here is the video for south carolina - a lovely little ditty by a denver husband/wife duo with some elaborate we decided to get and married and make music after sailing on a boat for ages

the song is very chirpy hippy stuff, it's quite amazing
there are a couple of other tracks floating about (marathon and baltimore) and i think an ep is due any day now

I love Marathon and this sounds lovely on first listen too.

This sort of thing is really making a comeback isn't it? Similar in style to Kiss Kiss Fantastic who I'm also loving in a lo-fi way.

Oh South Carolina is lovely, I think I only have demo's of the other two, but they are both good stuff too.

That looks like an '80s country album cover. I like the two Tennis songs I've heard so far - are they all so short?

They're all very short, the whole album is barely 25 minutes, but I don't think it would work if they were much longer anyway.

South Carolina, Baltimore, Waterbirds and Take Me Somewhere are all cracking little songs.

Oh I wasn't asking in a complaining manner. In general my favourite albums seem to be shorter ones.

I've dug this album out thanks to the recent fine weather (by dug out I mean played it of course) and it really is mighty fine and such a great album to wile away half an hour on a lovely summers (or in this case spring) evening.

Have we heard 'Origins' yet? It's been out a few weeks now but better late than never I guess. I am living for it at the moment <3

There's a new album 'Young & Old' due out next February too.

The singles from this album are really good.

I've never really got into them in the past, though I get the feeling they would definitely appeal. They seem to have an extensive catalogue but the new material seems like a good place to jump in.

This is a band I always intended to look into but never have. I’ll start with the latest album too. The Cape Dory album cover is the one I remember seeing most.

looking back, the cape dory cover is iconic and no mistake. my favourite thing about them is how they seem to operate outside time - the music is pure barmy/melancholic revelry.

as the new album is out, here's a celebratory top 10.

01 needle and a knife - (ah ah)
    02 marathon - *non-moaia related finger click*
03 how to forgive - all that it takes is just an act of surrender
04 modern woman - all i want is comfort in a touch or a look / all i want is to get back the closeness you took :(
    05 i'm callin' - hey hey heyhey
06 runner - every little bead of sweat *.*
    07 take me somewhere
    08 bad girls
    09 i miss that feeling
    10 i need your love

    here's a handy youtube playlist.
