Almost ten years have passed and it remains the gold standard for DYING ONSCREEN.

I love how it starts out bad and proceeds to get much, much worse.

I was just going to say, her smile at the end - does she actually think it went WELL?

I love Declan Donnelly audibly gobsmacked and totally lost for words. "Judges... erm... there's Rosie".

The head flick at the end TOTALLY saves it though.

Given how things shook out, it's hard to believe she was ever in the running to win...

She scored the second highest percentage of votes in all of the semi-finals. after Gareth.

I remember, but GG's was more impressive, given that he was up against Zoe Birkett who was a very good competent vocalist (on the show her 'Get Happy' was surprisingly quite fantastic) and the only person of interest she had was Star For A Night alumnus Jessica Garlick who had less than zero star quality.

Like the footage of 9/11, the horror which unfolds on this video never lessens. At least Rosie can REST EASY that she 'released' the best album post Pop Idol.

I just love how retro-futuristic that stage looks nowadays. It's still miles ahead of the FUNCTION ROOM AT THE BACK OF A TRAVELODGE stylings of Popstars: The Rivals.

O/T WHERE is Nicki Chapman? Getting a shot of HRT I presume.

It's a shame it cuts off before Pete makes his remarks. I seem to remember him blaming the backing track :D

    :D

Oh lordy. God knows what Cowell said, he probably punched her in the face! It's such a rollercoaster, it starts off alright (insofar as I HATE her adding multiple notes into even the shortest of syllables), but that first chorus :D still not enough to totally right it off, second verse just about (nice moves...), and then quickly becomes like an air ambulance crashing into a train wreck :(

    POOR ROSIE

I never did hear the legendary unreleased Rosie Ribbons album. I remember AcerBen was a huge fan.

Blink and A Little Bit have dated SOOOOO badly though. AWFUL.

    I don't think it's THAT BAD.

We've seen WORSE XF performances in recent years.

Dannii's desperate dancing elevates it to another level

I hate Simon SO MUCH in that video. For somebody so influential in the music industry, he has absolutely no concept of modern pop music.

It's obvious what Dannii was trying to get out of Rachel by choosing that song, but everything about it was wrong - the arrangement, Rachel's own complete lack of interest in it, the dreadful choreography. If it was a bad choice for the singer, it's only because the singer was an arrogant, limited vocalist.

I think the worst thing was Rachel trying to "pump" up the crowd as if she was singing a Heart FM hen party anthem. Absolute CAR CRASH

I still frequently listen to that album - I think I paid a ridiculous amount for it on eBay :D

Exactly, she was by far the best.

I loved how she sang "Whenever You Call" in Week One too :disco:, though that was probably her first big mistake

She went on Australian Idol a few years ago and was part of the 'Big 4', contestants who were considered really good, and then in her semi-final she does it AGAIN! :(

Stupid bitch. Wow she got fat didn't she!

She must have a massive complex now about performing live in case she suddenly veers off key

It's all a bit subjective I grant you, but she wasn't THAT great, and for whatever reason she was unable to connect with the voting public (her results being something like 4th, 7th, 7th, 6th, 6th)

Her best performance by a mile was her 'Everything I Do' in the semis.

I just find her voice completely soulless, regardless of what she can do with it. It's hollow.

I preferred Zoe Birkett, personally. I'm with David, in as much as her 'Get Happy' is the highlight of the female performances for me.

Zoe Birkett was doing the Back To Basics sound FIVE YEARS before Chrissy and even then it sounded SHIT!
