Been to any POOL PARTIES recently? TBH that term just makes me think of LESBIANS causing AGGRO in the BACK BAR
I thought Camilla had a way better product but Sian was the better person to invest in. At least there actually was a winner this year, unlike the nonsense last year...
I can imagine amongst her market, they probably ARE. There definitely seems to have been a shift in terms of lifestyle in recent years where rather than actually fly out to places, people are just copying the lifestyle in their own back yard. And I think it’s EXTREMELY short-sighted to presume that young women wouldn’t spend £50 on a bikini. We all used to get our student loans and blow a significant chunk on loads of FRIVOLOUS things - I really can’t imagine things have changed so much.
I agree! I thought the idea that students don't spend huge amounts on status items, including expensive clothing, to be ridiculous!
Wait. Is a pool party not usually held in party hot spots like Marbella, and Ibiza with a DJ and warm champagne spraying all over the guests? I had no idea these were getting replicated in the UK.
Yes, there is something a bit bleak about it. But I know she'd spend £50 on a swimsuit. It's not like it's worth her saving for a deposit on a flat after all...
The fact that she has only sold 400 items before the show would have been my main issue. It is a very congested market, and of course she will initially sky rocket in sales after the show but it will be interesting to see how she holds up.
She makes every single piece herself by hand, and she's on her own, so while 400 might not seem a lot, I am sure she is constantly busy. I think she's very talented, and actually I think she is selling herself short by just sticking to swimwear. She could expand to other things too.
It was impressive to me, but as a complete non--designer. I've watched enough Project Runway to find it a bit odd how Karen raved about it several times though.
Did Karren and Claude say ANYTHING remotely witty this year? They gave good face as always, but I felt the series was really missing a withering Margaret Mountford-esque soundbite.
Karren and Claude were perfect for me again this year. They literally tell it like it is and say what we are all thinking.
"She shouted at me" I'm surprised anybody auditions for this, considering how terrible literally everybody who goes on it comes out looking, but I do appreciate them all sacrificing their dignity in the name of entertainment.
