Is anyone else giving this a go tonight? It's on straight after GBBO.

The reality television programme, which starts on Tuesday 18th September and is hosted by Maya Jama and Alice Levine, sees contestants housed in one apartment block but living separately in individual apartments, where they will only be able to communicate by talking to a social media device called The Circle.

The STOP FUCKING HATE is calling it a new low in reality tv, but I won't let that put me off. At least initially.

As I said in the What You Watching thread, I’m always interested in a good new reality format

Whether this is one remains to be seen

    I’ll give it a GO

Of course I want to. I will record it and hopefully catch up on it at some point. I haven’t even watched last nights BB yet. :o

I will watch the first one but I am sort of hoping it is a bit rubbish so I don't have to commit to yet another programme.

They've scheduled it opposite BB (which based on last night feels like it could be a vintage series) most nights, and it is Autumn with all the new/returning dramas.

Well this is shit, wish granted.

Listening to them dictate these thrilling messages and describe what an emoji looks like is not televisual gold.

I'll stick to terminal old Big Brother.

I'm intrigued enough to continue with it tomorrow. Not really EXCITED, though.

The problem with it is you're never going to get ANY interaction by definition and that's what makes reality TV interesting. I watched tonight and was mildly entertained, but can't see myself switching on again tomorrow.

I’m still interested to see where they take it, but i’m not sure they’ve picked the right people to go in. Slightly too many samey twenty year olds who aren’t smart enough to make things interesting.

I can’t believe only ONE GUY is playing as someone else, to be honest.

I want them to add more people, and and hoping the producers have a fair few ideas up their sleeve to mix it up.

The whole concept just seems so forced. It's like a room of creatives sat in on a meeting and tried to invent big brother for 201x (what is this decadce called?)

I wouldn't have thought Bake Off was the ideal lead in for it. I'm amazed that lead ins are still even a thing.

Shit, either way. I saw a lot of promo for it as well.

I watched because I was intrigued and waiting for a roulade to defrost.

The problem with this sort of reality TV show in 2018 is that nobody bright enough to do anything interesting is going to apply, which probably works fine for the braindeads watching Love Island for a flash of #aubergineemoji but if you're getting a bunch of 'flirty' twenty-somethings to sit on a chatroom for three weeks... I don't think it's quite going to catch on.

The casting was all off for me. This sort of format would be ideal for bringing out some unusual characters - socially awkward recluses, lonely older people, trolls - it would be interesting to see what their online personas were. Instead we got #ladbantz and shrieky gay attention seeker. The Geordie one and the Mum were the only two decent ones.

Well it does remind me of the old Dotmusic/ICQ/MSN days... but there's no way of building up enough of a community with just 8 contestants.

A dismal 0.4m in the ratings last night

Yes, Jennifer was blocked at the end of the episode last night. So potentially one of the more interesting ones.

Apparently she gets to actually meet one of the others (her choice) on her way out, but we didn't see that last night. Obviously a hook to keep everyone tuning in!

Oh dear. Big Brother might be on its last legs and with ratings that are well down but that is awful. Where are those numbers going to be in a few weeks?

It's getting a little more intriguing now, finally. I hope the new person they replace Jennifer with is older and not a LAD though.

With viewing figures as they are, I wonder if 4 will leave it at the time slot much longer.

Anyone else sticking with this? I've missed one episode but picked it up again last night.

That Welsh girl pretending to be Christopher was useless - picking someone much older would be harder than picking the opposite gender, I'd say, although I think she was just bit rubbish anyway.

Alex playing Kate is far better. Even his recent relatively poor performance was a backlash against his popularity rather than a failing in his cover. It will be interesting to see Aiden's reaction tonight, although obviously it won't make any difference.

Any recent viewing figures? It can't really fall much further.

I’ve gotten quite addicted to this, to be honest. But the show NEEDS MORE ALEXS.

By which I mean, they need to stop adding boring, pretty people to try and stir up romance and more people that are smart enough to play the game a bit more or effectively catfish.

Christopher might have worked with someone else behind him... I don’t think Sinead did any research at all.

I’m HOOKED on this. Binged it up to date over the last two days.

I can’t stand Freddie or the fat Farage loving psychic.

I find Freddie slightly more tolerable since Ryan entered I guess it's all relative.

Kind of pissed off that Scotty's lie wasn't revealed until after the vote (although I appreciate it's all part of the game), as presumably that would have seen his score suffer, and lifted Hannah off the bottom to see either Ryan or him leave.

Not that she was much better - but she at least had a degree of nouse about her.

The meeting up before the final is interesting, but is their winner really going be be determined purely on their votes?

I expect Freddie to win the viewers' vote. As for the main prize, I'd be happy with any of them.

Dan meeting Alex was incredibly awkward. He’s taken the whole thing too seriously. I think he’ll feel a bit silly about it later.

I don’t think I could cope with Freddie winning. Any of the other three would be fine for me though.

I've had real ups and downs with Freddie. But as much as he's awful on many levels, he'd feel like a deserving winner to me.

That montage of him did make me laugh though.
