He deserves a thread of his own.
Who is he? What has he done before?
His main acting TRIUMPH seems to be playing Troy Bolton in the Swedish tour of High School Musical, as illustrated in this frankly TERRIFYING photo:
You really need to click on the picture to get the full effect by seeing the picture in its full-sized glory, which seemingly was too much for even this thread to handle.
He's mostly been active in Swedish musicals. He played Link in Hairspray, Troy in High School Musical and whatever Dominic Cooper's character was called in Mamma Mia.
He's also been on Så Ska Det Låta a couple of times, and was a contestant on Fame Academy back in 2002 (The show that gave the world Linda Bengtzing, Sara Lofgren and Sandra Dahlberg).
He used to have DREADFUL hair

I think he gives Kikki Danielsson a HOT FLUSH in that Så Ska Det Låta clip.
Oh I've already gone off him. He's clearly a massive show-off. How DARE he sing over Kikki!
I think I did see that Sa Ska Det Lata episode but I'd have never made the connection. He really does look a bit DIFFERENT THERE.
He's really NOT ALL THAT. He got incredibly LUCKY by being given a really really good song at the last minute because Danny didn't want it and somebody else pulled out, and got put into a piss-weak heat. It's not him that everyone in Sweden is crazy about (even though they think they are), it's the song.
OK I was a little harsh the other day comparing him to Josh Dubovie, because he did put in a competent performance, but he's just so VANILLA. He's hardly a Melodifestivalen revelation on Timoteij levels is he?
Here's a Schlagerfiasko interview:

I actually think he made the best out of a mediocre song. Listening to it without the performance is not really doing it for me.
Middle guy with green jacket?
That's pretty much how I feel, he's good, but uninteresting.
Absolutely. His performance was great. The song is mediocre and run-off-the-mill, most certainly not a 'really really good' track.
His nose reminds me Linda P's nose.

Poor Zac Efron.
He's now equal favourite with Loreen to win.
He was good, but let's not GO NUTS, people...
If the crowd reaction was anything to go by, I think he stands a very good chance. The Swedes love an "underdog" every few years...
He would have had an amazing chance have if the contest comprised a final only.
If he can recreate the same atmosphere in the final, his performance is worthy of winning even if the song doesn't lend itself to repeat listens.
I think he'd be more of an Alexey Vorobyov than an Eric Saade at Eurovision though TBH.
I think he is more like Eric (likable) but with a much stronger voice. I don't think the song is strong enough, especially now that Norway picked Stay. However, Shout It Out is growing on me.
If he changes his hairstyle, I will be able to accept him.
But not Tooji?
Good grief. A bit OTT...
Judging by the reaction he got and just how much he won the genrep poll by, I was afraid this might happen, but he's not HONESTLY in the running realistically? I suppose we've yet to hear Danny's song...whatever it's like it will split the vote with David, not to mention Youngblood.
David's song is really so much weaker on record than live. The production on it is terrible. If it does win, they need to remix it.
His voice doesn't sound very good on it for a studio recording, especially in the verses. While he was only a decent singer live, there was definitely an energy about the performance that made it seem much more exciting than it does in recorded form.
Agreed. It's not a sound recording contest - he knew what he was doing.
His voice certainly isn't the issue. I suspect the fact that it was a last minute entry means it was recorded in a rush. The production is the only thing that's wrong. Easily fixed should he win.
It would be something if he beats Danny in Globen.
Danny is currently involved in a HOMOPHOBIA CONTROVERSY, which may well cost him votes
Though it didn't harm Carola
What did he do?
He said something along the lines of "I used to think I was gay, but I'm from a Catholic family so I thought better of it".
I'm not sure if it was a joke that fell VERY FLAT or just a really odd statement, but he's been forced to furiously backpedal now.
I think it's probably just a 'joke' that didn't quite hit the mark. Still, it's a pretty stupid thing to say.
haha so thats why he wanted to kiss Eric so badly... he's just afraid of coming out of the closet
Death to Danny
I think I've missed some of the fuss around this as I didn't see Heat 2 live (or at all apart from the performance clips) - to me David just seems like too much of a Danny clone. I can cope with the song being a copy of In The Club, but if your song is so similar why would you also use the choreography that was totally copying In The Club too?
