What do we all think of the Beebs' new foodie show?

Simon Hopkinson is a fantastic food writer but this falls flat for me. It should work but it is seemingly plastered with the same tricks and cliches as that awful Sophie Dahl series and even parts of Nigella's last show for the BBC. It's probably the same creative team behind all of them.

    Urgh.

    Oh I LIKED this.

I hated the stupid modern day spaghetti-western camera work on the slow-mo wine ETC but I really liked it. I found him much less annoying than Nigel Slater who takes everything that little bit too seriously, but still really enthusiastic and engaging. And other than the stupid gimmicky bits of camerawork, I liked the way it was made too.

I think they could have done with explaining the barcode scanning thing in advance though. Someone like my aunt would love that, but even I didn't know how to scan it before I researched it online. It's not exactly self-explanatory.
