This Woman's Work is beautiful.
I prefer the Maxwell cover.
I always forget this is Lord Percy from Blackadder
Interesting that the real fans (most of the people in this thread now) all gave this a 9
She's not going to die. TAKE THAT BACK.
I love it. I probably docked it a point because of its overuse in any film/advent/docudrama in ANY sad scene that has nothing to do with the song's subject matter (which is childbirth and not even that obscurely)
I didn't know that
Oh, and I thought we were getting on so well
A cover of the Maxwell classic!
Tim McInnery ACTING!
Singing as if she's a bloke!
Everything about this is 12455/10
Agree. This is her Man In the Mirror.
I got a bit shiver at the end
I watched She's Having a Baby purely on the strength of this song being on the soundtrack. It was quite good but I don't remember most of it.
Love how STAGEY the This Woman's Work video is.
I think I want to hear it. I was just thinking, this is nice enough but I bet a remix/cover would be amazing.
Obligatory screech mention.
INTERESTING CHOICE of the red dress version of the video, @Soldi !
2. Wuthering Heights (1978) from The Kick Inside
Average score: 9.6875
Highest score: 11 (lolly)
Lowest score: 8 (wurst)
Please, I knew that when you didn't like Wildest Moments
And she'll not have a reputation as a dirty great nonce hanging over her.
It’s the more WELL KNOWN one isn’t it?
I think the white dress one is more well-known PERSONALLY but I may just be speaking for myself
Now this is out of the way I'm pretty sure #1 is going to be that song about Ken Livingstone.
THE OUTSIDE VIDEO
This always makes me feel proper Christmassy. I researched the hill it was filmed on because I wanted to go to there, but it was well far.
I prefer the other video, but they're BOTH GREAT.
Best mates with Rolf though...
I love this song, and have fond memories of butchering it at karaoke with a friend who looks like Noel Fielding the first time we met.
Ooh! Let me HAVE it!
I can't deny this is iconic and great fun. Kate Bush, as she has demonstrated tonight, loves nonsense. Most of the time it is lost on me, but this just hits right.
And it's peak screeching too which helps.
Wuthering Heights is beautiful.
I prefer the Jessie J cover
HERE WE GO
If that horrible Soldi would have let us have two 11's, I'd have given Wuthering Heights one. What a SONG.
It’s the guitar outro that gets me
1. Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) (1985) from Hounds of Love
Average score: 10.25!!
Highest score: 11 (VoR, Tisch, straightorbroken, Ag)
Lowest score: 10 (EVERYONE ELSE!)
Don't forget I have unchecked power to ban you permanently
An average above 10! AMAZING! And deserved.... BY A LOT!!!!
But my FREEDOM OF SPEECH!
There is no Jessie J version (I hope)
