Is it on Sky again this year?

If so, does anyone know how to stream it?

Is it on SKY FUCKING PREMIERE again?

It really fucks me off. I'd stay up otherwise...

    HERE? :D

I never anticipate anything where Alec Baldwin plays host - but Mo & (hopefully) Sandy Bullock's speeches will make the night!

We got rid of Sky Movies about a month ago because no fucker watched anything on them. Looks like I'll be streaming it then. Sky Arts sometimes join in so I'll try there or maybe even Sky News if they fancy it.

Was it last year where they had 5 presenters per award? I guess they aren't doing that again.

The scandals regarding The Hurt Locker and Sasha Baron Cohen have been pretty well documented, but this one pretty much passed me by:

This section always seems to cause a bit of a hoo hah.

Are we getting the past winners' circle jerk for the acting awards this year? I'm guessing not from that list, but then i think they were kept a surprise last year.

I hope so, it was quite fabulous.

The E! Red Carpet Show begins at 6pm EST, 11pm for those in the UK and then the actual Awards begin at 8:30pm (1:30am in the UK)

I am fascinated at the prospect of Sally Sparrow off Doctor Who winning an Oscar. I think that edges out him off Skins getting a Bafta nom :o

I don't think I'm going to watch this all nice, it's only 7.30 and I'm freezing, God knows what it will be like at 3am.

When does this start, and on what channel?

Anwar off skins got a Bafta nod last year as well (and it was one of the proper ones). Next year will be Maxxie's year, just you wait.

It's the one night of the year moopy gets a night time crew. Probably the thing abou dot I miss most; logging on at the office in the morning and seeing lots of new posts that weren't there when you went to bed the night before.

    Oh I meant him!

Do you mean that Nicholas Hoult got something for his orange gai turn in A Single Man?

Oh my mistake! But yes, he got a nod in the public voted rising star award, but got beaten by the girl out of twilight. Basically what a load of old shit (the category, not Nicky Hoult's defeat).

Is QOL Mariah going to be there? I was hoping she would be a presenter but obviously the organisers felt the other actors might be intimidated to have such a dramatic TOUR DE FIERCE in their midst

    And

OH YEAH COME ON MONIQUE!!!!!!! :disco:

Lou, Mimi will definitely be there tonight as she was at the Independent Spirit Awards last Friday spilling out of her dress as usual. :D

Oh my fucking word! I am SO out of touch.

I had no idea Roger Ebert had been that ill, that he had lost his voice and that he now looks totally different after surgery. ! :o

I've been reading his reviews in the last few years completely oblivious about all of this!

    :(

82nd Annual Academy Awards - THE OSCAR THREAD

YAY. It's finally here guys and gals. We can use this thread to discuss the show as it happens, and dissect everything afterward.

I don't particularly have a Kate or Marion this year (ie. a very important win that I would be distraught to see not happen). Therefore to make it interesting I've placed a few bets.

    - El Secreto de sus Ojos for foreign film
    - Hurt Locker for Original Screenplay
    - Basterds for cinematography
    - Hurt Locker to win either 5 or 6 awards total
    - Avatar to win either 3 or 4 awards total

It's quite likely that NONE of these will happen, but I've only bet twenty quid total, and if at least some come true I may well clean up.

So WHO is staying up with me?

Because it's a HOT TOPIC and it would get maximum views there (though not from MBD it seems :()

Anyway, ENOUGH Winslet pictures, we've all moved on now and it's time to hail SANDY B

Mo'Nique better bring it and outdo Halle & Gwyneth in the legendary overwrought acceptance speech hall of fame. :disco:

And I'd LOVE "Precious" to do a "Crash" and outdo the big three films vying for Best Picture but I doubt it. :(
