It just proves how motivated the Tories are about the economy. Boris talking about how schools are so essential for children’s education, when what he means is we can’t afford adults to be off work. Just tell the fucking truth and stop spinning it!

Children sitting in a classroom rather than at home? ESSENTIAL.

Children having enough to eat? FLEXIBLE.

It shows you how the Tories will manufacture excuses to line their pockets from the public purse. The so-called problem was an invention from their own ranks. And this is the result.

For the first few minutes, yes. After that, he'll be unconscious.

Anyone for Yvette Cooper absolutely crushing him at today's COVID hearings?

He looks absolutely miserable. GOOD! :disco:

Marvellous. The key to absolutely demolishing him is to press for details and specifics. It shouldn't be the case that our prime minister falls apart the second he's expected to know what he's talking about, but there we are.

I’m fuming watching that. Blatantly refuses to answer a simple question and starts to get angry as though the question is at fault. Then finishes off with a swift changing of the subject to the vaccine and we get nowhere.

when the Brazil variant is found in Brits in a couple of weeks, wait for the excuses to start. I hope this clip comes back to haunt him if that’s the case.

I can't get my head around the warped shit that is politics.

Priti Patel states publicly that she was an advocate for closing borders in March 2020.
It is the ONE good and prescient opinion she's EVER had and effectively admits that the government made a poor decision finally.
And apparently it might be a break of the ministerial code of conduct.

So the code of conduct literally says STICK BY THE PLAN EVEN WHEN 100000 PEOPLE DIE AND SAY WE ALL AGREED WITH IT.

Priti Patel would be a strong advocate for closing the borders whether or not there was a pandemic on.

Mortifying, but I do enjoy Johnson's brief look of abject terror as he processes how to safely answer the question. :D

I did think that when I saw the comment. :D

But in fairness, it's the one time where she was actually RIGHT. And it's the one time she's being criticised for it.

The rest of the time it's because she's protecting us from all those awful brown people.

If they weren’t trying to stoke up culture wars for political means, woke would simply mean good manners and respect

That picture of Liz Truss is hilarious. She's always had the air of a supply teacher out of her depth in an inner-city comprehensive but she looks like a haunted baguette,

It seems a bit random but it's apparently because Biden has suggested the US will be joining up too, and it would be a backdoor trade deal with the US

Why is this one different to all the others though? Is it just to do with transparency?

this government is absolutely brazen when it comes to giving contracts to its mates. There really needs to be a proper study on it. It’s the nerve of them that gets me. The people are stupid, and we can do what we want. The very essence of Tory entitlement...

although tbh this is a real thing in the Faroe Islands. I mean the way it’s pitched in that headline sounds crazy but we have the Channel Tunnel already, why not one connecting N.I.?

And the fact that it would have to go through the trench where they dumped the UNEXPLODED WW2 BOMBS.
