my new roommate(!) introduced me to this guy (that is his real name) who has done some interesting stuff and i thought i'd share as i'm in a pretty :black: mood these days but there's nothing to listen to (except aloe blacc)

i got his mixtape i want you and i'm really enjoying
he gives new life to some vintage tracks say by marvin gaye or stevie wonder, but it's also quite varied cause there's an ellie goulding mix and a tweet cover

he's giving the mixtape away for free at: http://www.djbooth.net/index/mixtapes/entry/theophilus-london-i-want-you/

    this is the tracklisting

    01. Va$htie Intro
    02. I Want You (Marvin Gaye Cover)
    03. Sorry to Interrupt
    04. Starry Eyed (Remix)
    05. No Answers
    06. Light Years
    07. Hey Wonderful
    08. Flying Overseas
    09. Oops (Tweet Cover)
    10. Accept The New
    11. Pyromilitia
    12. Give It Up Dad
    13. Don’t Be Afraid
    14. A Strangers Heart
    15. Life of a Lover
    16. Soles of Fire (Chauffeur)
    17. Understood
    18. Julia (Remix)
    19. Deprature (Paris 96)

Some of this stuff is great mixtape-wise, but seeing him live is an entirely different (not in a good way) experience, however.

not to go OT on your ass ameraal but if you're in a :black: mood please remember that Kelly Price and Faith Evans are about to release new albums and CAlvin Richardson just released one and it sounds quite good

actually, la funque, i have gotten the new ne-yo, faith and kelly tracks off your recommendations
the faith one is the only one that hasn't really stuck, i'm enjoying the other two moderately (the first one is a bit too crass luxury oriented for me though the mj vibe is so there, the other is really a screamathon, but like i said i like)

i wasn't able to locate the calvin track and have previously never heard of him so will look out for that

I have. He supported Jack Penate in Bristol last year. I was already completely wasted by this point, so can't pretend to remember TOO much. But before you think that renders my opinion useless, it is worth pointing out that I usually love ALL music when drunk - so, by this logic, he was VERY BAD. I vaguely remember some dreadful "I Will Always Love You" cover version being a particular low point.

i've heard two tracks off it and they are both very, very, very good

He features on the BRILLIANT Hey Boy by Mark Ronson, though he probably isn't needed if truth be told -

truly his kimberly wyatt moment there, teepee, i agree (without the off key singing, the sexy dancing and big hair)

still no takers on the two tracks above? they are really quite terrific and i venture to say the whole ep is quite highly likeable
but then people on moopy like the drake verse on wosmahnem :(
