I'm watching the government presenting their plan for the capital the next decade. I love a bit of urban development :david:

I didn't know the fall had covered that tune. I love the original, one of my northern soul favourites.

They didn't make that great a job of it, truth be told. Kinda flattened it. Not their best moment but redeemed by the energy of the performance, especially the bass.

Offer me a top 5 Octy, I've never really paid attention to The Fall. I'll have a listen today.

    Oooh...not necessarily a top 5 but a good introduction:

    Cruiser's Creek (1985)
    Bury (Pts 2+4) (2010)
    Kicker Conspiracy (1983)
    Hey Student (1994)
    Green Eyed Loco Man (2004)

You know I don't mind you compared to SOME OTHER PEOPLE I COULD MENTION but do you think you could move around the office in a manner that couldn't be BEST DESCRIBED as 'HURTLING'? I do find it rather DISCONCERTING and it's not really HELPING with the old ANXIETY

Triggered by the thread title. I was watching the 30 East Drive episode of Most Haunted at the weekend and I feel like I’m being forced to relive the fear.

I had to sack someone today who I really, REALLY like but we just don't have the work for her anymore. She was all upbeat and "Oh, I expected it" first thing and now she's let it sink in, she's crying uncontrollably in the meeting room. Worse is that we took her on after she couldn't get enough work freelancing and we did have enough work for a year but it's kind of evaporated and she just said " I've failed twice now at doing what I love, so what's the point?".

    :(

Oh COME ON! It must be hard being good at what you do, perfectly willing to work and not able to exercise that.

Couldn't you have sacked the guy who threw up in your house and given her his work?

I'm a RENOWNED HURTLER. And unfortunately because of my SOMEWHAT LOLLOPING GAIT, it's a bit like a PISSED UP WEEBLE chasing you up a corridor. Apparently.

Oh I tend to SHAMBLE. I don't really see the necessity of arriving at the FILING CABINET a SPLIT SECOND after you've decided to STAND UP

If this girl really had a can-do attitude, she'd have learned the other guy's languages by now.

Of course it is, but thats the nature of the wank capitalist society we live in. Can she not adapt her skills to something similar though?

    Well, of course...

I did see on Twitter that The Fallen Women were trying to get David Gedge to make the trip to London but it looks like he's elsewhere...

Why do I keep hearing “THERE’S A SNAKE IN MY BOOT” every time I read this thread title?
