I actually don't mind it at all. It's relatively subtle and the Stormzy bits are actually quite stirring and make it sound relevant. The only problem I have with it is what hearing it brings to mind
While it's hardly a classic for the ages, I don't instantly hate it like other charity songs. The rap makes it quite relevant. Mind you Bridge Over Troubled Water is as poignant as fuck. I like the cheap casio keyboard.
Regarding the plan to give flats at Kensington Row to Grenfell survivors, I see that resident Maria has this to say: “It’s so unfair. We paid a lot of money to live here, and we worked hard for it. Now these people are going to come along, and they won’t even be paying the service charge.” Well I have this to say to Maria: CUNT OFF YOU SLAG
I see fellow tenant Nick 'the Prick' is all tea and sympathy too. "I’m very sad that people have lost their homes, but there are a lot of people here who have bought flats and will now see the values drop. It will degrade things."
Poor, brave Maria. The true victim in all this. The media reporting that the victims are being moved into 'luxury flats with a gym, pool and helipad' or whatever is a tad facetious when they're just being moved into flats already marked out as social housing in a complex alongside actual luxury flats.
I said I found it difficult to. I didn't say I can't afford it. Anyway, it's hardly the most important thing.
I see Di's diabetes is affecting her brain again. Grenfell HOUSE IS IT LOVE? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...ds-labour-shadow-home-secretary-a7806106.html
http://www.standard.co.uk/news/lond...ool-killed-in-tower-block-blaze-a3575671.html Sadly this is my school and some of the wonderful kids we lost.
The DECLINE in house prices, the real horror of this atrocity. What's really shocking to me is the amount of buildings that have this cladding. It was only a matter of time basically, if it wasn't this block, it would've been another. It was inevitable whilst entirely preventable.
Just watching Channel 4 news about the Kensington fire and there's a loca councillor and it's Beinazir Lasharie from 2009 Big Brother no less!
Oh I don't know. It's not like the subject was missing kittens or low attendance at the local jumble sale. Anyway, good fucking riddance to that KCTMO sleaze and the truly reprehensible pair from K&C
The council have only just cancelled rent payments from the tenants, having collected some on Friday. Fuck's sake.
Oh and Frankie Boyle's New World Order is worth watching on the iPlayer. Tackles the subject in total seriousness.
Unbelievably we can't get back into our building until most likely January. We're still not allowed in the school and won't be able to until they've covered Grenfell with tarpaulin, finished the forensics and checked that no asbestos is being given off when they start demolition. They're building us a temporary school a mile away... I never thought for a second when I saw that building up in flames quite how much it would affect us logistically as well as obviously the emotional stuff.
Are you not even allowed in to get books, personal belongings etc? How are you expected to teach without any material?
We've been given some of the emergency funding they were talking about in the news. Only our site manager can get in the building so he's been able to get some bits for people. It's been a little bit crazy.
I think he's not bad. But he can be.... shall we say... difficult? Wednesday it was all: 'Right. I want that memo in 15 minutes.' *15 seconds later walks into the room* 'Right I need that now.' Shee - I had a brief one second shot on the News at 10 too.
I know it's not news to many people on Moopy, but I saw the tower several times over the last couple of days. It really was a chilling and fairly upsetting sight.
