I did struggle getting my forms in the box. I regret only folding them two ways, it felt quite awkward.
Did anyone else have police at their polling station? There was one at mine but I think that's in light of the recent Tower Hamlets mayor corruption case.
I'll be voting on the way home from work. I'll see if I've still got my origami skillz and see if I can fashion my voting paper into a swan.
No but there was the distinct whiff of YMCA and disused bus station. Possibly my least favourite polling station EVER.
I've been down the SCOUT HUT to cast my vote Everyone who lives round here seems to be 100 YEARS OLD and no doubt votes TORY or possibly even UKIP I voted Green in the council elections (which really is the definition of PISSING IN THE WIND) out of DISGUST at not being able to do so in the General Election No that doesn't even MAKE SENSE to ME
Richard Lupson-Darnell. His blog is here: http://richardlupsondarnell.com/ Won't make any real difference of course, since it's a Lib Dem / Con marginal (although less so than it used to be). But as a non-partisan candidate he seems like a reasonable person with some good ideas, and is a natural choice for a protest vote at the whole thing really.
I voted Green, and this is my first time voting. I do not like to get involved with politics and hate even simply talking about it. But, there we go. First time for everything...
Although the N.I. votes are an UNKNOWN there's not a single right wing vote there, so far. BRING BACK JIMMY. And where is Kratz these days?
Turn outs in recentish elections: 1979: 76.0% 1983: 72.7% 1987: 75.3% 1992: 77.7% 1997: 71.5% 2001: 59.4% 2005: 61.4% 2010: 65.5% I really hope turnout is something else that reminds people of 1992.
Voted Green/Caroline Lucas in a pretty dead Children's Centre just opposite my house. Truly a momentous occasion for my first election.
I suggest a new thread for when the polls close and the coverage starts. Perhaps put it in the TV section?
Biggest queue at the polling station I've ever seen. Although at least partly due to the amount of thick cunts who didn't realise we had local elections and were flummoxed when asked if they wanted to vote in both. Labour in both for me. As much as I'd love Labour to get all four Bristol seats, it's more than likely it will be three to one Conservative. But very likely to be all women at least. FEMINAZI UP
I just voted, and ALL the UKIP candidates were hanging around outside with their badges on. Talk about DESPERATE!
I didn't realise we couldn't change our minds. It was SALMOND I couldn't stand and thankfully he's keeping a low profile.
All voted. I'm ashamed to say that is the first time I've ever voted very pleased I have tho. And it took approximately 3 minutes.
Yes! I'm rather concerned whoever mentioned 1992 in reverse might actually be right. The polling really hasn't been going the Conservative's way over the last few days.
