I hope the wheels come well and truly OFF. It'll be fabulous to watch, and exactly what we deserve after they've destroyed any faith we have left in the British public.
The issue is that all the claims of racism, sexual harassment, homophobia and general ignorance in the world won't help when the party's supporters largely don't like people of colour, women, gays or thinking critically.
I read a piece the other day speculating that the rise in UKIP's support is just as much down to sexism as it is racism - the lack of secure blue-collar incomes weakening the role of the man of the family being the primary earner and the authority that came from that, the (relative) reduction in the number of places where casual sexism is acceptable, and a general sense for the men who did that that they 'can't say anything anymore' (or rather, a longing for the right to objectify and harass women again). Hence the nostalgia isn't just for a mostly homogenous Britain, but also one where 'men were men' with traditional gender roles. I don't know how true it is, but it certainly fits.
Obviously it'd apply much more to male supporters than female, but then you do get some women who thinks a woman's place is at home and all that bollocks - not many, but I'd wager a lot of those types have gone UKIP. In any case given their male support hugely outstrips their female support, it could partially explain that too.
The wheel won't come off until elected MPs start fucking up on a major scale or Nigel Farage, who lets face it IS UKIP departs this mortal coil.
I don't even think fuck ups would halt them. In any case, Nigel's planning a handover in the next five years - if someone like Diane James took over (UKIP's answer to the GMTV bitches) I'd be very worried.

I think my favourite part of this Kerry Smith/Nigel Farage story about him using the word 'chinky' is that he also managed to fit in the phrase 'Chigwell peasants'
Any idea how old Kerry Smith is? The skin says 30s but the teeth and hair say 40s. It is very unfortunate to look like a cross between Nick Griffin and Barry Humphries.

The frightening thing with UKIP is all the 'gaffs' they are making such as this CHINKY business is probably winning them support.
