Just started playing God of war 4. Lots of fun. But mostly linear.
I started playing Two point hospital, which is basically theme hospital 2
linear games are underrated. God of War does it eminently, and the scale is still so huge that you don't really notice
I had a go at Two Point Hospital. fun the first couple of missions but not much longevity, is there?
Ah I couldn't get on with God of War but I think that was because there was so much hype when I came to play it and just found it disappointing.
I have just ordered Skyrim on the Switch so will let you know how it runs when it turns up Could be good taking that to work and playing Skyrim on my lunch break
The Witcher 3 is still the best I've played on PS4 and in the last 10 years
Speak more of this. Theme Hospital is one of my favourite games EVAR.
I bought the Shenmue reissue on PS4, and I’ve very much been enjoying that. The voice acting is something else.
How many sailors have you hung out with? And once you've told us that you can give us your impressions of Shenmue
That COB, he’s a right one.
The sailor bit was a hoot.
“Hey Ryo, how’s it going?”
“I’m looking for sailors, do you know where I could find some?”
Such organic dialogue!
I’ve played a couple of hours of it now and it really is just an updated version of theme hospital, with better graphics and more things to put in your hospital.
The AI could be smarter, and the game could be tougher, but it is fun to play. The developers seem to also be doing frequent patches (the latest including copy and paste rooms ) so I have high hopes it’ll be like City Skylines in that sense with lots of developer support as the fan base grows.
If you love Theme Hopsital, you definitely need to give it a go.
I'll give that a look, then. I need a good sim game to tide me over until Tropico 6 eventually comes out.
I think I'm all theme-hospitaled out after replaying and completing the original a couple of months back.
I hope my city building urges will be satisfied when Foundation hits the digital shelves
there’s a new Anno on the horizon too, will obviously have to play it (even though it looks like a cut copy job with new textures)
Yeah so this looks snazzy:
It will be brilliant but it's still a way off yet.
I'm quite looking forward to Biomutant if anyone's checked that one out yet?
Two Point Hospital has basically taken up my last two weeks.
It’s SO good.
did you see the 45 min gameplay video? oh my days. I love that you can hack your enemies
I saw the fuzzy trailer a while back but haven't heard anything about it since. I've not played much from THQ Nordic except from their great Titan Quest and a bit of Spellforce
oh, they're releasing the new Desperados too
For the past year or so they have been hoovering up an awful lot of titles. Recently they got Kingdoms of Amalur (though they would require EA's agreement to produce a remaster).
What a series I'm glad this one's coming back, one of my favourite games while I was back at college
a new Settlers is in the making too. I haven't liked some of the newer installments much but Settlers 2 is one of the best games EVER so I'm always ready to give them the benefit of the doubt
I feel QUITE BAD that the new Tomb Raider has been a bit of a flop, but I played it today and it is SO bloody po-faced and serious that even after an hour, I was longing for a bit of the light-heartedness of Uncharted.
I guess the series needs ANOTHER reboot now.
Too grim? Spiderman has gotten really good and has gone from being quite light hearted with Spiderman's usual quips to something reminiscent of the batman games. It's certainly added to the drama of the game, it's great
OT: the only thing I have time to play these days is Overwatch. Orissa is the only hero I'm any good at (and Bastion but who isn't).
I'm still on Witcher 3 and as much as I wish I could end it I feel properly engrossed in the universe and characters now, all of which are so detailed and incredibly plotted that in some ways I NEVER want to leave. Geralt is now firmly top of the "charming game characters you'd fuck" list.
It's easily the best thing this generation has given us. The world and its stories are incredibly enchanting
Agreed on settlers 2. I loved the world conquest so much.
veni vidi vici, yo!
I hope the new one has an isometric option, that was an undeniable part of the charm
I got myself Northgard the other day (might still be on sale on Steam), it's a Viking themed RTS that's part Warcraft, part Carcassonne (you colonize tiles on the map on your path to viktory). it's a great little game
if anyone plays it/buys it and wants to duel I'm GAYME
^ campaign was a bit short but fun. great concept all in all. the biggest draw with such games is multiplayer though
so anyone, ANYONE CAN YOU HEAR ME. come play with me
I don't do online multiplayer. Sozzles.
Currently weighing up whether to splash the cash on RDR2 tomorrow.
of course. it's why you have a job, to be able to pay for over-priced, over-hyped video games
I've had mine on pre-order, so postal services better not fuck it up
I didn’t complete the first one but I preordered the second anyway.
Rockstar games are like Adele albums or coffee table books. You might never play them but you should own them.
the ending of the first is so though
of their big games the only one I haven't played (and finished) is L.A. Noire. anyone knows if it's good?
It might be overhyped but I bet it's smashing. RDR1 was great even if some of the main story battles got a bit silly.
I don't own or have played a single Rockstar game. The last DMA Design game I've played was Body Harvest, which was okay back in the day. I imagine it looks and plays like dogshit these days. I do love Unirally with all my heart though and recently spent a whole weekend playing it on the SNES Mini.
at the moment I’m slugging through the 5th Professor Layton game because I never started it when I bought it FIVE years ago. Hmm
Also a free jigsaw app on my phone
I should note that I've just finished Zelda: a link to the past.
I spend at least half of my gaming time playing classics I was too stupid to finish when I was young, thanks to the mini SNES.
Now playing donkey Kong country which is far worse than I remember it being.
I finished that this year for the first time too on 3DS though.
How did anyone finish that without the internet?!
I know right. A spent so much time wandering around. If only I'd known to get the spade to find the flute and ask the statue to let me fly somewhere.
