Last month saw Nerina Pallot. Last week Kacey Musgraves. I have Bjorn Again in Nov 24th and Kylie Dec 5th coming up. Oh and I saw Joanna Lumley in her tour too opening night in October.

It helps that it's my favourite thing to do but I'd be lying if I said that it didn't cause a few sluggish days in the office!

Oh yes, I forgot that I've got Art Brut next year as well! Great to have them back.

I've always been the sort to 'bank' sleep but I'm sure that will become more difficult as the years roll on....

How did you find Kacey? I saw her for the 2nd time last month and she was fantastic although the venue (Bristol Hippodrome) was terrible and sucked a lot of the energy out of it.

I didn't realise they still did gigs like that there. It's wonderful for musicals and the like, but never good for anything else.

I wonder why that venue was chosen?

I'm going to see Flogging Molly in Belfast next month.

Irish-american folk-punk, seeing as you asked.

I think that’s why I switched to theatre. The guaranteed start and finish time helps in the planning. Gigs are far too unpredictable. I’d go to more if more promoters started advertising the stage times rather than when doors opened.

She was terrific. I got the impression she want to see more people on their feet but after she pretty much said it she did about 4 (very good ballads in a row). She needed to fire in a few more uptempos if that’s the vibe she wanted but I really enjoyed it.

    In no order:

Magic Christmas (freebie from my friend just to see Kylie)
    The Cardigans
    John Grant
    A-Ha
    Mylène Farmer
    Spice Girls

I think that’s my lot. What a disappointingly small list...

I assume it's because Colston Hall is being re-developed and so they're farming the gigs out elsewhere. It's a lovely building but just not set up for gigs. It felt like a lot of people were there for a night out at the theatre rather than to see her.

Oh I didn't realise they had started work on the Colston Hall already.

Pleased that Kacey Musgraves is at the stage where both venues are viable, anyway.

    Glastonbury!

I have been to quite a few gigs over the last 12 months, more than usual, so I’m having a little break. I am tempted by Elton John tickets though, and perhaps Chvrches next year.

Which is the best website to keep tabs on what events are about to go on sale? I keep finding out about gigs after they’ve been on sale and missing the best seats.

Fucking hell. It really isn't that hard to book shit 90's acts but they've struggled with that.

Hang on, one of C & C Music Factory is dead so it should just be "C Music Factory".

I don’t think I even know who was in Cappella, much less sang on the records (:side-eye:), so they just might wheel on anyone and it’ll be like OH WOW CAPPELLA

Personally I’m hoping for Kelly Wilde and DAWN MITCHELL :disco:
