I am still around, I just mostly lurk.

I've had a lot of changes in my life over the last year so it's becoming increasingly more difficult to sit down and prioritize five minutes for myself. I am doing that now though, and it's nice.

    It won't last.

You know I wondered for a while why I stopped posting (for the second lengthy time). I still lurk on and off and lately, of which I really couldn't put an actual time frame on things except to say it's not MERE DAYS, I find myself reading moopy a lot, whether it be for a QUICK CHUCKLE or for some useless Eurovision info or whatever, frequently thinking about replying and frankly never being arsed to do so. And so it goes on. And then I realized why - almost 100% of my internet browsing these days is done via my mobile and it's just so much of a fucking FAFF trying to type anything beyond a sentence on that. Facebook is the extent of my social media use but even that is patchy at best and of course the whole point of that is for quick posts anyway so it's not so bad via phone. I use the laptop for so-called important stuff but even then will have the mobile on the go to browse as a distraction!

So I have no idea what the answer is other than to make time but surely this must be the reason a LOT of people just don't bother anymore. It's sad because I'd hate to see forums die and I'm sure some will always exist in some capacity but it's difficult now with this SCROLL ON THE GO habit that suits most of our lives.

I guess forums are a bit of a dated format and not smartphone friendly. I find Moopy delightful on a tablet though.

I find it relatively easy to post on my phone, especially since the upgrade.

The weird thing I have found that since the upgrade, nobody has comeback and mentioned it. You may not be posting but I SEE YOU LURKERS.

I just don't get why he suddenly took something so seriously as he did that day. He used to never really be bothered about what happened on Moopy at all - and me even less... I never even know anyone's bloody names. :D

You’ve been away so long that you weren’t even around when I joined 5 years ago! A what made you leave in the first place?

I don't know :D How would I know and what should I be using instead?

Anyway I have tried it several times since and realized it's not THAT bad. It's just not ideal and I suppose never will be. Not least because I always have predictive text turned off so spell check goes out the window but that's hardly insurmountable and no doubt there's other ways. I'll just have to GET ON WITH IT

I guess it's also easier to post when making brief, snarky one liners most of the time..

All I'm saying is forums aren't as mobile friendly sometimes and I wonder if that contributes to people not bothering which is hardly unreasonable.

Oh god, not another London clique.

I've mainly been posting less because of the total avalanche of work I've been thinking about and occasionally doing, but current pop culture being a barren hellscape doesn't help much. At least most of you have the excuse of being ancient.

I didn't realise I was gone that long to be honest. I never made a conscious decision to leave, and have popped up occasionally. I suppose the longer you leave the harder it is to come back. I have lurked for the past while, and found myself drawn here again. How long for? Who knows.

The only thing that would be great on mobiles is the ability to embed pictures directly from your phone.

Uploading and inserting links is a thing of the past.

I didn't so much LEAVE as kind of FIZZLED OUT which is rather pathetic I know... It wasn't so much as hating on anyone I particular as feeling like I'd become surplus to requirements, like some guy standing on his own at a party that nobody knows and everyone wondering who invited him... (Nobody actually realising that he's been there since the last party three years prior when there were people there that he actually knew)

I'd always been a music wanker which I embraced fully but it was getting to the stage where people were no longer able to tell the difference between the genuinely annoying behaviour which was just me, and the OMF routine which was all genuinely a bit of silly fun, so it was as tiresome for me as it was for everyone else.

I never really got pissed off with the place, so there is that.

The irony (TM) of it all is that there's actually been some pretty amazing pop music* the last few years that I actually could have joined in on, so from a gay music forum perspective I actually chose the wrong time to leave
