She was just so sort of PLONKED there, confined to a tiny space. Seeing security on one side holding back a gaggle of camera phone wielding tourists leaving her trapped and static was more than a bit odd.

Are you going to a matinee Lolly? The WMC has been all greened up and looks fantastic at night.

Yes, and we'll be gone before it gets dark, unfortunately.

I do love that building though, and worked there once as a runner on a production of Gypsy.

So I saw this last Friday for the first time in 5/6 years. The show is still great, but I swear they've changed a couple of things:

    * At the ball where Elphaba turns up in the hat, she starts doing some uncoordinated rubbish dancing and Galinda, feeling guilty then goes to show her how to dance. It wasn't always that way, was it? It was that Elphaba started doing her own style of dancing and Galinda just joined in so everyone else would follow.

    * 'Wonderful' was practically at double speed and the part where the wizard shows the green bottle to Glinda is totally lost as he pretty much whips it out at the end and puts it away immediately. Maybe they were running overtime or something.

I still enjoyed the show and Savannah Stevenson as Glinda was fantastic. Also got to see Emma Hatton as Elphaba whose acting was very good and singing was capable enough. She could be great with time. The AUDIENCE however left a lot to be desired. I was sat next to some woman texting the whole time, a family behind who would not shut the fuck up and kept rustling their crisps and POPCORN (why do they sell that at the theatre?). We were in the 8th row stalls so the top price seats. Why spend that much money if you're not going to watch the bloody show?

Did you tell her to turn it off and threaten her with a punch in the throat if she didn't? That usually works, unless of course they don't speak English in which case you have to use sign language, or just punch them in the throat.

    People are quite dreadful.

Oh she was English but quite a hefty bird. I don't think I could take her, so I just put my hand up to shield my eyes from the phone glare every time she got it out, which was about every 5 minutes.

It is lovely. But surely it isn't only me that can feel the negative energy from that performance, despite that?

Now that they have an official release date and director I'm sure it will happen. Will be up against the last Star Wars.

    HEYY dUB and HEYY Phoenix!

I thought Les Mis was fairly dire at the time and haven't wanted to see it since. Anne's scene was SENSATIONAL though.

    Welcome back....

I think I was offended by Into the Woods way more than anything recently released. Felt it shat all over what the show was about.

Yeah, Into The Woods was rubbish. A tough show to mess up, but they managed it. The casting was good (bar CORDEN) but I agree, it just missed the point.

I love Kristen, but she's looked like Charlotte Perrelli's corpse for about 10 years now.

Corden is probably the one who benefitted the most out of it since it was the first time the US was made aware of him.

For a long time, I've assumed it'll be Zac Efron as Fiyero in this but now I think Nick Jonas might SWOOP IN.

Anyone else going to Kristen Chenoweth's One Night Only show at the Palladium next month?

I had tickets to her show a few years ago at The Coliseum which got cancelled so happy it's happening again.
