Reggie and bollie aren't really an anti vote, they are genuinely fun and seem quite lovely people

If the single this year flopped surely they can't do another series next year? I know flop winners singles have never harmed The Voice, but it's part of The X Factor to have an (almost) guaranteed Christmas number one?

Well, they're A LOT more interesting than personality vacuum Louisa.

On the other hand, when voting is lower, it's easier for a protest/surprise/whatever to win. I'm not convinced it matters either way. I suspect Louisa will win, but then I'll be happier seeing her underperform than Rn'B.

I think the last renewal took it through to 2016. I'm sure it could be axed before that if they really want to, but suspect that even with falling audiences and failing contestants, it makes enough advertising revenue to see the contract out.

The ratings are causing the show to be absolutely slated week in, week out. ITV might want to keep it on air (and certainly, it's still one of the biggest TV promotion platforms - even against Strictly, which despite 4+ million extra viewers, doesn't seem to generate quite the same commercial boost for the acts that perform), but I think it's Cowell's ego that will be the deciding factor as to whether it comes back.

I like that the biggest drop came after Dannii left. :disco:

I think Cowell is content to treat it as a joke now (at least this year he seems to have totally given up on any pretext that it's going to find a superstar) so I'm sure he'll happily take whatever £££ he can from it for another year. It really is astonishing how far it's fallen this year though, like it's been gradually slipping for about 5 years, but it fell of a massive cliff this time and there's clearly no coming back, no matter WHAT they try. Especially if even the final can't bring in the viewers anymore.

I've had this on while being horribly hungover today. The highlight was TDHHGQOL's MASSIVE TITS!

Cheryl's transformation into the living embodiment of Edvard Munch's Scream is finally complete.

I feel so embarrassed for Leona being wheeled out for that mortifying performance.

Finally LOL at those duets. Where once we had Beyoncé + The Beast there is now CRAIG DAVID with a fresh Just For Men dye job.

I didn't watch it as planned this afternoon and there's little point now, but I will be watching shortly. All my mother (who did watch) could keep nattering on about this afternoon though was Cheryl and her eating disorder.

Cowell's super length to cover his stack heeled shoes trousers look even more ridiculous when he's in a suit. How does he not trip over them?

Less than half as popular as it was at it's peak. What a collapse! I wonder why this year was it's worst ever. I had simply had enough and was conscious that it had very little spark any more.

Have we had a single good group performance this year?

And was Mason Noise there then?

I think he was on one of the motorbikes at the side of the stage. Keira was absent, too.

I'm convinced next year will see Jenna Maroney sit at the judges' table and it'll be renamed "Great Britain's X-Adultz Got Factors".

We're less than a hair's breadth away from it, surely.

Nice to see One Direction going out on an X Factor high. What a dirge. I am quite curious to see what they are all going to look like within a year or two of the break up, though.

Anyone would think One Direction were being launched into space forever, and not just taking a break between albums :D

Simon's parting words 'I'm so grateful' (for the money). 'I'll always be there' (for the money)

Why on earth let LIAM have the last word? All the charisma of a damp flannel, as much as I'd gladly let him sit on my face. At least Niall manages to remain at least partly enthused and can crack a smile now and then.

Presumably they just used the 'reggae' setting on the backing keyboard for R&B

This is dreadful. THEY MUST WIN!

Was it chosen assuming a Louisa & Che final?

Just like the winners single last year, it suits one but not the other.

Has there ever been a worse choice of possible winner's single than this?

Surely someone about 4 weeks a go was capable of thinking "hang on... We might need to switch it up like we did with Cher Lloyds year"
