It could be a coincidence but Louis has the most compelling category. Dalton is *the* contender, Brendan is dull but has a really unique voice and Anthony will die if we don’t vote for him.

I hope Anthony somersaults into a landmine next week when he gets through.

Do they usually announce the theme via commercial? Don’t get me wrong - I love a bit of ABBA. But surely it’s not so much of a pull?

It was confirmed last weekend on the show wasn't it?

And it IS a big pull - look how successful the film was this year. How well Abba Gold has sold this year, 26 years after it was released. How well the DVD will undoubtedly sell in the run up to Christmas.

But again for the show, isn't it successful with entirely the wrong demographic?

Or they are more likely to be watching Strictly...

It certainly can't be THAT appealing to the 16-34 bracket they boast about. But then no less appealing than Big Band week, I suppose.

Sounds like Brendan has upped his dose of helium this week.

The last thing I wanted to hear on this Saturday evening is a karaoke version of Shirley bloody Bassey.

Is Scarlett going to give us a Rosie Ribbons moment singing The Winner Takes It All?

OMG this thing just gets worse. Honestly. Talk about scraping the barrel. That ABBA medley was DISGRACEFUL.

I thought Scarlett sounded great at The Winner Takes It All. Anthony was terrible.

Both of Anthony’s performances were dreadful. He was actually pretty good at one point of the competition and I don’t understand why he’s getting these kareoke standards instead of getting a nice ballad so he could attempt to stand still for more than 20 seconds. He obviously can’t control his voice when he can’t contain his excitement. I thought he and Louis were supposed to have a cosmic connection.

Am I disgusting for quite enjoying Acacia and Aaliyah’s ‘Money, Money, Money’?

I’ve just remembered that cringeworthy moment when Anthony realised he was safe and started bouncing around, jumping on Brendan who was obviously eliminated. I thought he’d realise his nipples were exposed and that his friend Shangela was gone but NO, he was just living for himself like a drunk baby.

I'm feeling ill and emotional but the notes at 1:52 and 2:12 in particular are just fantastic :disco:

The Acacia and Aaliyah song book begins at Stormzy and ends at Skepta doesn’t it. I’m sure this is the third time they’ve performed Shutdown.

I felt like A&A had a good chance of getting through but on balance, Anthony’s song was more of a moment.

Acacia and Aaliyah are the only act from this series with the chance of getting a hit single to be fair.

Looks like Anthony could be receiving the most votes. At least the dealers of Liverpool will be experiencing a boost in trade this winter.

Apparently Simon Cowell is planning another celebrity version AND an All Stars Series with past contestants and judges.

I really want Dalton to win but I can’t help but feel like Anthony is going to.

A celeb version would give me too many early 00s vibes but this is Simon Cowell, he’s not exactly on the crest of a modern wave.

There is something about an Allstar version that could sound fun but I didn’t watch at all in between Jedward and this year so I can’t imagine how many MOR ‘I love real music and eating flaxseed’ sorts they’d trot out.
