Ray probably thought he was lucky to get to the final. I guess he never expected to make it that far. He knew way in advance that the single they would have to record was the one more suitable for Leona.

Something tell me that he wants to do his own stuff anyway, i.e. more swing-based music. Will Young said he was never that happy having to record Evergreen.

Absolutely... If anyone gave a shit about making his second album a success, getting him on the X Factor Final was the way to start. Ooooops.

Anyway, I was fucking delighted at the result. I was expecting a Ray win until he sang A Moment Like This, when even his most ardent of fans would have been :|.

Leona was obviously GREAT and she wore a NICE DRESS. I prefer Kelly Clarkson doing it THOUGH.

Well folks, that's the end of my EXCLUSIVE HINTS'n'TIPS FROM THE TV INDUSTRY. Until Soapstar Superstar, that is. :bruised:

Winning is only important if they make it out to be. It was better than Leona won if it is simply a matter of who records that song because it was more suited for her.

Will Young beating Gareth Gates surprised them all because they had all expected Gareth to win and really Evergreen was meant for him to sing.

After Will won it anyway they did their best to give Gareth a decent go at a career, and at least at first their careers went about equally. Only on the 2nd album did Will prove to have more endurance.

Now in my opinion, in order to make anything of their careers, they need to record new material, not covers, and as I don't think either of them can write their own songs, they need to get good songwriting teams behind them. I think Leona is more likely to find that than Ray but even in her case, I'm not sure that her style isn't too dated to be a major success.

It was blates all aimed at Leona winning.

I loved all the "bare gangstar's" supporting Leona, I bet crime was non existant from wherever she comes from tonight.

I think the really unfortunate thing was the use of AMLT for a Sandals holidays advert a little while ago. It's unforgiveable to use it after using it for that.

I am really bored of this song somehow :(
It's a great ballad, no doubt but not even her voice can make it more fresh now.

Success depends on if Simon will support you after the initial interest phase and I doubt he's going to let Leona go.

I hope that we dont see an album from her for MONTHS, that was one of the things that elped Will Young establish himself... they have the opportunity to work with her and develop some fantastic songs, if we get an alb um within the next 3 months she may aswell give up there amd then...

was it 8 months between Will winning and releasing the album?

Gary Barlow on Xtra Factor was basically slagging The X Factor to bits! Saying how the singles/albums they usually release are uninspiring, radio never plays them and the albums are rush released and full of covers and that he hopes to see them take their time with Leona and not ruin it for her.

Yes but W,estlife dont NEED to perform with the "star" of the show or promote their songs on a reality TV program like some people. W.estlife are already popular enough without that :)

Like Kian said, in any band other than ********, he would be a lead vocalist. It's just that they had 3 world class singers in Shane, Mark and Bryan :manson:

Well like I've said before, in credit to him, in a group of wankers he manages to stand out as being the greatest wanker of all.

Nicky and Kian have perfect BACKGROUND-singer voices.
If you listen to unplugged versions, they deliver wonderful harmonies.

But you can't beat Shane in lead vocals, and Mark neither.
******** are almost a duet band now, with 2 background vocalists.

Now and then there have also been some STUDIO recordings with them singing the lead vocals, and they are all rather DECENT really!
