Not sure if it’s for Moopy but I love it. I think we can do very well again.

That's a potential winner I reckon. If they stage it well it could be a real moment. The juries are going to eat it up with a spoon too.

Oh I love that too and I can totally get behind the Netherlands winning

This is up to second favourite now but didn't blow me away at first listen.

Wow this is great, love it. It's top 5 definitely, if the staging is great, maybe a winner. Amsterdam 2020 !!

Perhaps I shouldn’t get my hopes up, but I really feel this should be top 5 at least.

Just watched the live version, (got goosebumps) i just have a feeling this could do really well.

Yeah, it's got heaps of potential. With a good draw and performance it's a major contender.

Oh this is going to do very well. Very instant for me.

He can clearly sing it excellently live so they just have the staging to get right, which shouldn't be too difficult.

Not really grabbing me, but obviously striking a chord with you lot and the bookies. Hope it doesn't win.

Hits one million Spotify streams this week, and #15 on Spotify in The Netherlands (+#1 iTunes). I don't get the impression that the Dutch always make a big hit out of their Eurovision entries, so I'm guessing this has been well received at home? @Kevin

You are right. Our last couple of entries hardly charted at all and our Spotify list is mostly filled with Dutch rappers. This is doing surprisingly well and pretty much everyone seems to love it.

I think this is definitely going to be in the running, but I am a bit dubious about so many people already declaring it the winner - Aram mp3, Sergey Lazarev and Francesco Gabbani are examples of when the seemingly overwhelming favourite ended up not winning when it came down to it. It DOES happen when the pre-contest favourite wins - Loreen and Netta are the most recent examples, so there's every possibility. It's obviously a massive fan favourite, but I feel the odds to winning are over-inflated a the moment. It would be great for The Netherlands to win again after such a long time, though. But it's still early days.

Out of interest, which Dutch Eurovision entries of recent-ish years would you say genuinely became big hits?

If I look at the last 10 years there are only three songs that became huge hits: Calm After the Storm, Birds and Ik ben verliefd (Sha-la-lie). Hopefully Arcade will be a hit as well.

And indeed, when you don't filter out Måns and Emmelie, there's slightly more than 'every possibility' - it's more that the pre-contest favourite wins more often than not. :basil:

Do we already have a live performance of this? I have only found an acoustic performance on youtube, and frankly it's a bit meh compared to the powerhouse that is the fully produced studio version.

Another live perf

My God. He's going to absolutely walk it I feel.

I’ll be an absolute mess during that televote if we did well/won the jury vote. 10-year old me got hooked after seeing Carola win 91. I can hardly believe it might actually happen now after a decade of embarassments.

I mean, you know what his live vocal is like, you know what the track sounds like, can’t you fill in the gaps? :D

Yes if we’re talking about “finished” productions then we’ve only really got those from the Scandi ones and maybe one or two others.

Not entirely finished, but an actual perf. UK, France, Ukraine (rip), off the top of my head.

Anyway, still obsessed with this.
