Well WHY NOT?

Professional dancers confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2019

Strictly Come Dancing will be waltzing back onto BBC One for its 17th series this autumn as the NTA and Bafta award-winning entertainment show made by BBC Studios returns with more sparkle, glitz and glamour than ever before.
The professional dancer line up for the upcoming brand new series is now confirmed as the following world-class dancers are set to return to the iconic Strictly Come Dancing ballroom.

Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios, says: “We are delighted that this year’s line-up of professional dancers for Strictly Come Dancing is full of familiar faces and fan favourites. This amazing cast of incredibly talented world class professional dancers have provided Strictly with some of its most memorable moments over the years and with more exciting announcements to come, plus world renowned choreographer Jason Gilkison also returning to the team, Strictly 2019 promises to continue to wow viewers with unforgettable performances as we welcome this dazzling line up of pros back to the ballroom.”

Further information, including which dancers will be partnered with celebrity contestants, will be announced in due course.

Strictly Come Dancing is a BBC Studios production for BBC One. The Executive Producer is Sarah James and the Series Producers are Robin Lee-Perrella, Jack Gledhill and Lee English. The Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Jo Wallace.

That seems earlier than normal. A little surprised they aren't even replacing Pasha by the sounds of it.

If they have the same number of celebs as normal then SOMEONE is getting promoted from the bench.

Neil waiting by the phone for his call up

So if that is the full list and the numbers are the same as last year, does that mean that both Neil and Johannes are promoted, or just one of them? Because I really don't see them giving it to Johannes over Neil.

Just one, assuming they don't demote anyone (Graziano?). You would think that Luba will be a spare again as well.

I’m not one for imposing an ageist regime on the professionals, but he really does look RIDICULOUS in the group numbers now.

Like I said before, Brendan (and now to a lesser extent Pasha) leaving just exposes him more and more - isn't he at least 20 years older than all the rest of them? Never mind the fact that he looks a few years older than his age (52) anyway.

It's not like we need an older dancer for older celebrities - can you imagine Debbie McGee doing half as well with him as she did with Giovanni?

They certainly don't have anyone comparable for the older male celebrities. I guess he did get Katie Derham to the final a few years back (or she got him there) - that may have been the time to bow out. I imagine when he does go it will be on his terms, I don't like to think of the uproar in certain quarters if he were to get a Brendan style axing.

Can't seem to embed that for some reason. Odd.

I don't follow him, honest.

Neil is literally the WORST. So mortifying in every single way.

Queen Johannes better get a partner this year :disco:

I just want my ultimate GORKA to get an actual contender.

Gorka did get The Beast only two years ago, but was admittedly given two no hopers on his other two outings. I don't fancy he's been favoured as much as Aljaz, Giovanni and THE KFG on the whole though.

I reckon they may push for a Giovanni win soon. I get the impression he's well thought of, and has been runner up three times now.

That's a shame.

Please NO ANTON (and no Karren Hardy).

I guess they will want a known dancing personality rather than someone Latin and ballroom to replace Darcey anyway. Hopefully they won't repeat Alesha.

Of course they could just decide to make do with three judges, save on a salary and make the dance-off vote more straightforward. That would put a few noses out of joint.

I could certainly think of worse things to be riddled with.

And there was me thinking one of the tabloids would blame it on a Shirley rift.

I'd grown accustomed to her face I have to say. It's a shame as I think she was now starting to come out of her shell and was able to provide more interesting critique than in her first 2-3 years.

Her first year she was AWFUL, wasn't she? Yah?

Oh COME ON. Last year throughout many of Shirley’s critiques the camera would cut to Darcy and she looked DISGUSTED.

She's POSH. She can't help always looking like that.

:D

She certainly didn't get good reviews for the first few episodes but as far as I remember she had won a lot of people over by the end of her first series.

I think I might be tempted to look down my nose if my dressing room was next door to a head judge who dances around in her slip carrying a bag of Tesco hot chicken like precious cargo.

Nothing wrong with that darling. I can ASSURE you.

Please don’t invite Arlene come back

I’d almost rather Carrie Grant :wired::vor:

I hear Su-Elise (from Su-Elise stage school fame) could try and fit it in to her busy schedule

Currently too busy choreographing the S Club 3 international tour. I suppose the fact that she got Jo walking again is something of a miracle.

Haha oh what a loss to BBC prime time! :(

If they were to go for someone already connected to Strictly, Erin Boag would be my pick. She is one of the best on the former pro It Takes Two slot, and it would be made all the better that Anton would have to be pleased for her, but would be tremendously put out all the same. :D

Natalie Lowe if we're going for an ex-pro, please.
