I am looking forward to seeing who they set Lady Colin Campbell up with. @Halli will be tuning in IM SURE.

I'm quite surprised the cricket didn't rate higher - admittedly it doesn't help that it was broadcast on two channels and clashed with Wimbledon, but I thought the fact England were in a final of SOMETHING would have drawn viewers (or at least a substantial peak) - particularly with the way it concluded.

Also, I wonder whether ITV would ever consider moving Love Island to the main channel given it's their biggest show at the moment outside of the soaps.

I suppose maybe they don't NEED to, but I do wonder how high it could go...

It also got 2.845m on 4. But I've no idea if all those three channels were simultaneous.

I've seen the first three and have the last one recorded. I will get to it but I'm not that eager to watch at the moment.

I hated how they took the money rather than fight for justice. Yes, Isaac said he didn’t want anyone to know, but it did not take long to persuade him later on.

I have just put on Keeping Faith on BBC 1. I am a bit lost, but have realised this isn’t the first series. Do I need to watch the first series to know what the HELL is going on?

Do I need to watch the first series to know what the HELL is going on?

It’s probably sensible. In fairness, the first series didn’t exactly conclude in a satisfying way. But on that basis, coming in on series 2 probably isn’t going to help.

I hope this one is better. The last clearly had high ambitions but it ended up feeling distinctly B-list.

I turned it off. I don’t think I can be bothered catching up so have moved on to something I can get on board with. Tonight’s Love Island.

Impacts: one impact is one person of the target audience seeing an ad. These impacts are added up to give, in this case, the total number of impacts for an ad campaign. A total of 10 impacts, for example, could be achieved in a number of ways: by ten people viewing a single commercial; by one person seeing the commercial ten times; by five people seeing the commercial twice and so on.

Oh my god :david: overload, but that is INCREDIBLE.

I know there are a tremendous number of variables, but that surely emphasises what an uphill battle TV advertisers have. If my maths is correct (and I was just dividing numbers against each other) and the most-watched advert was screened ONCE during the most-watched ITV programme, then it was seen by less than 3% of the audience.

Interesting that there was no boost for the Love Island final. But I guess it just had a hardcore fanbase who watched consistently, rather than a larger less rabid one who tuned in en masse for a final.

And a few too many shows with question marks in the title for my liking.

The problem with the Love Island final is that it just wasn't very INTERESTING. There's no tension - and none of the contestants have really been playing for anything. The last week was DULL AS.

It's weird when you compare it as a reality TV phenomenon to things like The X Factor and Big Brother. It would be UNTHINKABLE for those shows at their peak that you wouldn't watch the final. Yet Love Island's final is entirely missable.

Yeah Love Island fans don't seem to particularly like the final, I think it's one weakness in the format

I know it is the season but there are a lot of shows that feel a bit daytime.

Only the one non-soap drama too. Presumably iPlayer availability has done for Keeping Faith.

I totally agree with the Love Island Finale comments. It really isn’t all that exciting, as the contestants are not natural throughout the interview. I watch for the drama.

Big Brother Finales used to be so much more exciting for some reason.

Slightly amazed that seventeen series in, Dragons' Den is pulling in those figures for BBC2.

I watched a bit of an episode on Youtube earlier and it bored the fuck out of me. I have no idea why anyone enjoys Dragon's Den at all.

I'm not OPPOSED to Dragon's Den - but the number of pitches vs. the number of successes is INCREDIBLY LOW to make it must-watch TV.

I don't think I have seen Dragon's Den since the DAYS OF DEVEY. I watched a few series but the formula got old pretty quickly.

The soaps really are in FREEFALL. Eastenders is doing terribly and I think they are really going to struggle to pick up on those numbers. Fat Pat back from the dead should do it.

I still routinely watch Dragons' Den. Never live, though. I usually watch it when I'm in the bath. For some reason it works. I'm still surprised it's pulling in 3 million viewers in an era when the top shows only manage 6m, though. And I guess it must be really quite cheap to make.

I quite enjoy Dragons Den too. My only gripe is that the dragons invest in roughly 2 pitches per show, but we never really hear much about the businesses afterwards. I watched a programme once presented by Richard Osman that did revisit some of the businesses, but I think it was only a 30 minute show. I want to know MORE.

I think going back a few years they had one or two shows like that, but yes - otherwise pretty much nothing.

About half the deals fall through anyway though. There seems to be a newspaper story saying as much before pretty much every series.

I know you've said about being glad when all the big autumn/winter shows come back, @Rita. I'll be pleased as well, if only to shake the chart up a bit!

I guess there's just no reason to try and launch anything new/major during the summer given the audiences just aren't there.

Which is a shame really; you'd think that it would be the perfect time to see if any of the shows on BBC Three, etc. fly on a main channel.

It will be interesting to see just how well Peaky Blinders does on its return and BBC1 debut this Sunday.

ITV are launching their latest period drama opposite as well.
