So instead of tacking the CIN tag onto the latest single by a current pop star, they've got various actors to cover classic songs.

I can't really think of a less appealing track list: https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/shows/got-it-covered/

Jodie Whittaker's cover of Yellow seems to be the one getting the attention:

All is forgiven Kate Winslet.

I was surprised by what a good voice Jodie has but yes, I never really need to hear Yellow again whoever's singing it.

I'd rather drown in my own piss than listen to this.

In fact, if this gets rammed down my throat, I'll poke Pudsey's other eye out.

Has Stand Up 4 Cancer, CIN and the Poppy Appeals all been done at the same time before? It seems rather counterproductive.

This is a good idea, sadly apart from the singers and song choices.

I don’t know why they don’t do a CIN GH, or something, they’ve had some big hits over the years. Like Never has a dream come true by S Club 7, Have you Ever by S Club 7... and many more!

I remember as a young boy having my undiscerning pre-teen wig snatched by the live link up with all the kids singing the old CIN song (which probably wasn’t really live). I wish I was so easily impressed now.

That was a bizarre Wikipedia experience. In a few minutes I found the following things:

  • The first CIN single was by CLANNAD!
  • basically it was all unsuccessful shit until Perfect Day
  • There was a Patsy Palmer and Sid Owen duet
  • I forgot all about Denise & Johnny doing a single

Unsuccessful until Perfect Day, and then pretty much all MASSIVE until Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) flopped hard.

Well yes I knew it was big after that, actually I was surprised how long they’ve been doing decently.

Is comic relief still doing well?

All but one Comic Refief singles have gone top 10. The last one was Ed Sheeran.

Why is Debra Stephenson not on this?

The track list for this features Olivia Colman covering Glory Box by Portishead (!)

i know! But I meant the argument that former Corrie actress Debra Stevenson didn’t deserve a spot because of Olivia didn’t hold much water when former Corrie actress Suranne Jones is on there.

not least because of the rest of the shit on there

Oh sorry my post was not in reply to your post above, just a general expression of bewilderment :D

I saw a BEHIND THE SCENES video on SOCIALS MEDIA where Phoebe Waller-Bridge and her posh sister play the UKELELE (of course they do) while Taylor Swift looks on ADORINGLY and yeah I'm OUT.

I don't know why but of all of them it is Shaun Dooley that tickled me the most.

It really is the ever-reliable album silly season. Chris Kamara Christmas long player anyone?
