The Apprentice The Apprentice: Series 15

Just caught up with last week. I said this weeks ago that Iasha was just way too nice to last in this competition. The editing for this show is so suspect - Iasha said in an interview that she did do things in this task but they edited it out - they obviously had a narrative. It was a bit shit that the first time she does a misstep she is out the door, when other candidates have had chance after chance. I think Lord Sugar knows who he likes and doesn't, and they just find an excuse to get rid of who they want.

Thomas came up with ANOTHER idea that was shit. It was bad enough with Tommy the Talking Turtle. He should have gone.

I'm not sure I'm here for a Ryan-Mark sauna scene

Dean is surely TOAST if his team loses

Useless

Constantly like a deer in the headlights.

On the other side those tantalising shots of Ryan-Mark's inner thighs have been shown rather too many times.

Surely LordSirAlan isn't going to ditch the foreign Jemelin over Ryan-Mark this time out, is he? This can only be going one way.

The FACE on Jemelin when Sugar was going through his final deliberations. :D

I guess she saw the shenanigans coming.

The boat race on Dean when Lord Sugar revealed his team had won would make milk turn.

Thomas should have gone tonight. As Kala said his ideas are terrible.

Interesting that Sugar referred to it. Hopefully his cards are indelibly marked now.

And :D at Karren's 'People like Thomas are easy to manage. You put them in their place and leave them there' comment.

Also I found it bizarre that the last "rebrand a place" task I can remember was Margate, and a team went down the gay route that time too.

So that's SEVEN minorities gone, one left in Dean. And he's crap so won't last long. Jemelin at least put herself forward but Thomas YET AGAIN should have gone for that terrible billboard.

The final 2 are clearly Scarlett and Lewis.

Agreed. Scarlett and Lewis are head and shoulders above everyone else in my eyes.

Jemelin was the best of the bottom 3 there, definitely shouldn't have gone. The advert wasn't great, but Ryan-Mark has shirked responsibility for 8 weeks now and Marianne was in charge of the billboard, which was 100 times worse than the advert.

Ryan-Mark and Thomas have clearly only been saved as they make more interesting TV.

There's been a few firings every year which have been rather suspect, but this year things just seem to be even more obviously fixed than usual. They're never going to keep someone like Iasha over Thomas. Quite a lot of people on social media have raised the POC issue, and while it could be coincidence, the odds of that happening are staggering! You'd think someone in the production company would have twigged and said something to Sugar.

One of the contestants from a few years ago - Aleksandra King - remember the one that walked off the show after a few weeks right in the middle of the planning meeting? - she revealed that the contestants get about 4 hours sleep a night, they get fed limited food, they're forbidden to talk to each other when the cameras are not on and the production team deliberately sabotage the tasks.

I think we all know a lot of it is set up, but I think the tide is turning with the way people are being treated especially after the Jeremy Kyle situation.

As if they're not allowed to talk to each other when the cameras aren't rolling. Whilst some of what she says is undoubtedly true, that just doesn't make any sense.

She said they’re not allowed because they might miss anything to do with the task. They have to sit in silence. There are production staff permanently in the house to stop them. Maybe she is over-exaggerating, I don’t know, but I’ve heard it’s also the case on other reality shows like Top Model.

She said they aren't allowed to SOMETIMES. On a produced reality show does anyone think otherwise nowadays?

The show's popularity shows no sign of waning, anyway. It's remarkable how resilient it is.

This series is running very slightly higher in ratings than last year, and if that holds it will be the most watched since 2014. And on consolidated figures, it's only 1.5m below its most popular series in 2011. Considering how figures have collapsed for other shows over the last decade, that seems extraordinary to me.

It is interesting as I wouldn’t say this year has been a standout compared to say, Elizabeth’s year.

Sack of Sugar (can’t face calling him Lord) is in a Twitter spat with Lewis after calling him out on having terrible tattoos.

Yeah I think we can safely say Lewis doesn't win. I think he'll make the interviews though. But then WHO DOES make the final?

Out of the guys left we have Dean, Ryan-Mark and Thomas - none of them seem final material to me. Dean is USELESS despite winning the task last week as project manager, that was a fluke. Ryan-Mark is being kept for the lols for sure, and Thomas, well, for some reason Sugar likes him but he's just too much of a bull in a china shop to be taken seriously at any level at all. Plus his ideas are all SHIT!

As for the girls - the aforementioned Scarlett is the strongest candidate, quiet, unassuming but assertive. I'd say at the moment she is a given - and then we have Lottie - who I cannot see winning due the race row but will likely make the interviews, as she is a decent candidate - and we are left with Marianne, Carina and Pamela - that means one of those three should make it.

We haven't really seen ANYTHING of Pamela but then she hasn't really done much wrong either, I wonder if that comment Sugar made last week is to plant a seed? She kinda reminds me a bit of Alana from a few years ago who was very much a background character for the first part of the series. A possible, I think. Marianne, I can't see it - I just don't think they are a fit, and I think her card is marked - and then there's Carina who I think is fairly ok. So either her or Pamela I think.

Steam Train
The ApprenticeSeries 15
Episode 8 of 12

It’s Week Eight, and Lord Sugar instructs the candidates to put on their high-visibility jackets and meet him at the Battersea rail depot. There he reveals that it's full steam ahead for this task, in which the teams will be hosting a corporate away day onboard the iconic Belmond British Pullman train.

The candidates will have to lay on food, drink and entertainment while securing a good ticket price from the corporate clients to ensure a large profit. The task requires the teams to show off their organisation and hospitality skills. Get off track and they could end up with a one-way ticket home.

For one team the journey gets off to a bumpy start, while the others are left covering their tracks as they are faced with hungry guests. As this runaway train pulls in to the station, the candidates head back to the boardroom to face Lord Sugar’s scrutiny. For one candidate, it’s the final stop on their journey, as they are told – 'You’re Fired!'

Lottie clearly has no faith in Dean whatsoever. And who can blame her?

I'll kind of feel sorry for Thomas if he goes this week.

Oh, now Ryan's gone he could have ditched Thomas as well.

I have to applaud Thomas for standing up for Pamela there but he made poor choices yet again and was a massive reason why his team failed. Just HOW many chances is he going to get? However, Ryan-Mark was definitely the right one to go. What a useless, misogynistic twat.

She made some mistakes but I was actually quite impressed with Lottie. Dean just showed yet again how useless he actually is.

Top 5 - Scarlett, Lottie, Carina, Lewis and probably Thomas. I think Marianne's card is marked too much.

Yeah Marianne isn't making it unless she just gets lucky and her team keeps winning from now on. Same with Dean. And then probably Pamela.

So a top 5 of Lottie, Scarlett, Lewis, Carina and Thomas. And if that's true that Lewis doesn't make the top 2 then it has to be a Scarlett/Carina top 2.

Thank GOD that horrible little twerp has finally been shown the door. Sending the two girls to the kitchen, and then trying to place all the blame on them for the group losing the task.

CHAUVINISTIC PIG.

I wouldn't be surprised to see only one of Lottie and Thomas at the interview stage. I think both are more vulnerable than most if they get taken into the boardroom - and any project manager is going to know that, which only increases their likelihood of being there if their team loses.

Like cwej, it feels to me now that Scarlett and Carina are the most obvious final two, but as said before, Carina just does not have the AURA of a winner somehow.

I've not read the details of the Lewis/Sugar twitter spat. Is it possible that it is misdirection?
