Bringin' da noise
Bring down the house
We came here to turn the party out
Say come on, come on
Let's raise the roof
And give 'em proof
That we can get loose ya'll

I had a bit of a Taylor reawakening in the car home yesterday so I'm determined to give this a go tonight.

if the album still hasn't "clicked" with you, i recommend listening to it with the queen of the internet.

I need some picks from this album, I can't really do a whole Taylor album, I streamed American Dynasty and like that one!

Ten pages in and I still haven't listened to this properly :D

I'm so here for Taylor slaying the world. Her oh so spikey personality really is quite the thing :disco:

I finally feel comfortable doing a rate. I'm not shaking and crying at most of it for now, but it definitely isn't a disappointment. It's a mood, it's a concept, and it transports you, which I wouldn't have expected with a Taylor Swift album. I feel like I will be awakened by the album in six months during the peak of winter, which is kind of how Ultraviolence hit me back in 2014. Without further ado:

06 the 1
09 cardigan
07 the last great american dynasty
07 exile
07 my tears ricochet
09 mirrorball
10 seven
09 august
08 this is me trying
06 illicit affairs
07 invisible string
05 mad woman *delete* tm jark
08 epiphany
04 betty *delete* tm jark

betty is just too jangly and that harmonica is too much.

... would have been my favorite album since Ray Of Light.

I thought this album was an excellent accompaniment to my morning walk in the drizzle last week. It's equally as amazing as a soundtrack to sitting in a garden on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

And Illicit Affairs is really an 8 as well, albeit a rounded up 7.5. I just wanted to show it as my least favourite.

"Further, in the last four years, the three biggest weeks for any album have been racked up by Swift. Dating back to July of 2016, the three largest frames for any album are: Swift’s Reputation (1.24 million units, Dec. 2, 2017-dated chart), Lover (867,000) and Folklore (846,000)."

Also the first-ever female artist with 7 consecutive #1 albums on Billboard. :disco: Would clearly be well over a million with physicals in-store for the casuals.

ok I keep coming back to this but I always end up listening to the same 4 songs on a loop: This is me trying, August, Seven and the The great American dynasty

I think this is seriously wall to wall bangahs. Dwindles a bit at the end (Epiphany, Hoax) but all in all it's solid, great writing, great sound and I love that she did it all in secret.

Also great gowns.

Epiphany is one of the best tracks on it, excuse me!

Yeah Epiphany is incredible. To me it feels a bit Imogen Heap minus the vocoder, and like a distant relative of Clean.

My ones are: The 1, Dynasty, Epiphany and Peace, and it's harder with the rest just because I love those 4 so much. Exile, Cardigan, Ricochet and Mad Woman are on the B-list (at Capital)

Yeah I didn't mean Epiphany, I meant Peace. Might just need some clicking time.

Also Invisible String is SICKENINGLY twee, yet somehow she takes it away from twee. I don't quite know how she does it. The delivery?

Whatever you think of TS, you can't SCOFF at this album. It's the mark of someone truly very talented.

She also broke seven records.

*First artist ever to debut atop Hot 100 & Billboard 200 simultaneously
*First woman to debut two songs in top five simultaneously
*The artist with most Hot 100 entries among women
*Highest first-day Spotify streams 80,6mil
*Highest one-week Spotify steams 402mil
*Most Digital Hot 100 #1s
*First artist to have 7 albums debut with more than 500k in the U.S.

Can’t wait to hear “the lakes”. I hope it lives up to the rest of the album, but I have little doubt that it will!

apparently it's beautiful and it's about her time spent in the Lake District :disco: (also referenced in invisible string - "bold was the waitress on our three-year trip, getting lunch down by the Lakes" )
