Peter Sutcliffe DEAD

Had no idea he was still alive! He really kept a low profile the last few decades. Unlike that whiny bitch Ian Brady who made sure we knew about his EVERY BREATH.

I have to say I’m actually quite annoyed he’s died. I think there are at least ten more murders he was responsible for and it would have been nice to see charges brought against him for those as well. Death feels like he’s being let of the hook.

My dad genuinely did meet him on the night of one of the murders. He asked for directions (Sutcliffe, not my dad)
Fucking Hell, that’s spooky. Was that in Leeds?

I’ve been obsessed with this case for YEARS so I always get excited when someone has a connection. My friend’s aunt was the woman in Preston whose murder derailed the entire investigation - I genuinely knew more about her than she did.

Yeah, a few of the murders were up near the arndale centre and one in Chapeltown, and my parents lived around that way.

Yes, this. There's are a number of other "disappearances" around that time that were ignored by the police because of their prejudice against sex workers and that's before we get to the failings that allowed him to carry on for so long that came from a similar place.

There’s a book about him called ‘The Secret Murders’ which links him to a load of other deaths. A lot of them are stretching it a bit, but a good few (plus some attacks where the survivors swear blind he was responsible) are almost certainly his handiwork. There are also a couple of murders in Sweden which match his M.O and correspond with dates he was over there for work.

The gag about Mrs Sutcliffe enjoying afternoons out always kills me. What was that from?

Thank you! I thought so but I thought I was mixing it up with the Fred West quote.

I think the actual quote is “I’m sure Mrs Sutcliffe had some super days out with Peter when he was taking a break from rape” but I wasn’t entirely sure and also I’d not want to be tasteless :)

I'm wondering if any Moopers would express a desire for a super evening in with our Pete.

Which always annoyed me because he never actually raped any of them, just wanked over their bodies.

Doesn't really make him any less vile but historical accuracy is important.

Yes, hands up girls! I know he’s what you might describe as A BIT DEAD but you never know what substantial treasures you might find under the donkey flap

Beloved doesn't even begin to cover it does it?

I am forlorn.

Cilla died in August, so the theory doesn't fully stand the test.

Hey, I'm not saying that's the almighty's only charity. He might have been cornered by an old dear rattling a tin for Oxfam outside Morrissons and, what with him being responsible for the poor infrastructure in the most affected regions, felt he had to go big so Cilla it was...
