The Arthouse Lounge

salut mes petites endives

I really want to see this new Ozon effort

It's probably not very good, but it's based on a book that I read twice at a very impressionable age that is probably responsible for my disastrous romantic life :disco:

I did!

I liked it very much. At first I thought the narrative choice was a terrible one - but it made sense as the movie wore on. It really wasn’t anything NEW but I’m a sucker for these types of stories and I enjoy having my heart stomped on over and over :disco:

I rented it from Curzon Home Cinema. Happy to let you have my log in to watch - it’s rented until Sunday evening.
Thanks but after much searching can’t get Curzon on Roku or TV annoyingly ! Will have to wait a bit longer :(

It's currently free on the amazon prime so I've finally seen it. Lovely. Hooray for Rod Stewart :disco:

Yes just seen this too !
Obviously loved it, the fact you know from the beginning David dies probably meant I didn’t invest in the object of Alex’s affections so much so was a bit like oh get over it :D
I wish as as fluent as Kate

I was agog that she wasn't played by une actrice anglaise as her accent was so obviously appalling even to moi and heaven knows i'm not much good at the french

Oh i was sure she was English too what with that very strong accent ! :D

Kopfplatzen is a bit of a ride.

Unsavoury plot for sure (a grown man attracted to young boys). Max Riemelt plays the lead and he’s very easy on the eye.

For more Max Riemelt hotness - make sure you check out his man on man film Free Fall!

The BFI Player rental store is my new favourite discovery and will bankrupt me.

Looking forward to watching THIS tomorrow evening :disco:

This sounds VERY DIRTY

I’M IN :disco:

I’ve been busy with seminars about CROWS and OCTOPI to make my brain work again and I do think it’s now time to get back to ARTHOUSE so RECOMMENDAZIONES PLEASE LADS

When is that MADAME DRUG DEALER thing being released in the UK? Or has it already been and gone?

I saw it floating round the USUAL DUMPS but didn’t bother as no subtitles so I don’t think it’s graced these shores yet. :eyes:

I’ve watched two Guatemalan movies last weekend, first La Llorona which despite being marketed as horror is nothing of the type and that one impressed me so much that I watched the director’s previous movie Temblores about a guy coming out to his fundamentalist family. Both are highly recommended.

Curzon have been hawking that DONKEY FILM for a hundred years, I was aghast to discover it’s only JUST BEING RELEASED.

I watched this on there not long ago which I thought was UTTERLY FABULOUS until I read that the :horny: lead actor was a disgusting homophobic CUNT :(

Are you watching any of the BFI Flare festival @jivafox ?

I wanted to see Firebird but all the tickets are sold out. May take a punt on ‘Jump, darling’.

Yeah the two I wanted to see (Firebird and Poppy Field) are sold out.

I’m tempted by “Cowboys” but I’m a bit scared it might stomp my heart a bit TOO much. :D
“Jump, Darling” seems to be the easier option.

I've been trawling the glut of crappy lgbetc films on your favourite streaming services and I watched this

I've never seen such filth :disco:

I saw this in a packed CURZON SOHO SCREEN with a lot of NON-GAY MEDIA TYPES (I know, they DO exist) and there were GASPS APLENTY :D

I really like this beyond the SHOCK VALUE, the ending was really unsettling especially if you've ever been CRUISING :eyes:

I really want to see this one. Its sounds right up Moopy's street

After a chance encounter at an anonymous sex party, a sixteen year old boy hunts through the world of a hook-up app to track down the mystery man. Favouring the instant gratification of anonymous, no-strings sexual encounters over meaningful relationships, high schooler Sequin is part of the always logged-on, but never-engaged, hook-up generation. He ghosts ex-partners and remains emotionally unavailable. That's until he finds his way to an anonymous sex party, where a whole new dizzyingly alluring world unfolds before him. In one scene, Sequin connects with a mysterious stranger, but they are separated suddenly. Utterly fixated on this man, Sequin sets off on an exhilarating and perilous mission to track him down.

I watched this tonight, which was a dizzyingly homoerotic mediation on death. Basically :( but :horny:

It's £4 to rent on BFI.

Genuinely don't think I will be able to think of anything but the car scene with the hairy nips front and centre for a long while.

I’ve had this on my to watch list forever. I’ll give it a go.
