Taylor Swift - Fearless: Taylor's Version (and re-recorded albums)

yeah of course it sounds the same :D and GOOD! it's nice that Potensh Breakup Song matured a bit in the process of being made explicit, but these rerecords are designed to replace the originals in playlists so sounding the same is the name of the game.

she sounds great (and younger than I expected) but it does highlight that Love Story has LONG since been vastly surpassed. It's just a nice song.

"You All Over Me" (one of the scrapped songs from Fearless and bonus on the upcoming re-recorded album) was released this week:

It's ALRIGHT

it's cute. there's also an Elvira remix of Love Story which is a bit more than cute

Why was I expecting Elvira Mistress of the Dark to make an appearance? :D/:(

I've only really been a fan since the double whammy of folklore and evermore, both of which I fell in love with and still listen to regularly. So this Friday feels like I'm getting a whole new album! Exciting!

For people who know the album already, am I in for a treat?

I presume physical versions are still taking SIX MONTHS to arrive?

Oh I meant vinyl.

I mean, WHO BUYS CDS THESE DAYS APART FROM MY MUM?

And middle aged Madonna psychopaths with MORE MONEY THAN SENSE if my discogs is anything to go by.

the vinyl backlog is massive right now. it's insane.

Indeed, but most acts just wait until they have their ducks in a row. Taylor just chucks out and releases vinyl months and months later. Annoying.

I still buy CDs. I feel it'd be a kick in the teeth to the me who bought thousands of CDs for years if I stopped. I do actually listen to them though. Sometimes.

I stopped last year when I realised I just wasn’t playing them. I haven’t parted with (m)any yet though. I do think they will go soon, though- I need the space.

FOR MORE RECORDS.

Love "Mr. Perfectly Fine" - is it an outtake she re-recorded from Fearless session or entirely new song?

all of the from the vault tracks are re-recorded outtakes.

apparently this one may have been recorded a bit too late to make the cut as it's post-Joe Jonas breakup. it's an obvious hit (for her back then - and possibly now also) so that's the only reason I can imagine why they didn't use it...

(for her back then - and possibly now also)

I think that an old style Taylor Swift song could do really well on American radio now. If they promoted this, I could see it happening

I think it's pretty but most of Fearless is better to be honest. It can't compare to the true Joe Jonas breakup song of the ages Forever and Always (oh ohhh oh oh).

She gave us a 26 track re-recorded Fearless today. 😫

brb crying to "Untouchable" (Taylor's Version)

still haven't listened to any of her last four albums in full but living for Fifteen 2021

I didn't really like the new production which sounded a bit minimalist and her voice didn't seem as emotive as on the original. Plus the B-Sides passed me by a bit.

The "new" Keith Urban song was rather lovely!

Keith Urban brings me out in a RASH(I think it's the hair...and the consistently naff music output), so I'm sort of leaving that one to last.

Her voice has improved immeasurably!

Do any of them sound different than the original?

I'm glad she included my two favorites from the original: Forever and Always and Forever and Always (Piano Version)

they're the same with fuller backing. and her voice defo has matured. and Change has a nice ending.

I guess thats the point. Replacing the old one in my library with this is a perfect chance to be a feminist with minimal effort

In true TS fashion :disco:

I'm somewhat new to Taylor, but these songs sound pretty mediocre compared to folklore or evermore. As someone who doesn't have the nostalgia aspect, I'm struggling with them. They just sound like cute-but-forgettable country bumpkin affairs? Quite happy to persevere though if they're worth it in the end?

Red is very good, and 1989 is a brilliant pop album. I don't really do pre-Red TS to be honest...

Speak Now has a few worthwhile gems (as does the original re-release of Fearless). Essential cuts include “Enchanted” and “Sparks Fly” for me.
