UK: The Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson years - problematic + infected + broke the law + electoral poison + sneks + not very good + OVER (funny)

Glad he hasn't abandoned Cilla entirely. My postcard I bought from him has a Cilla stamp!

He will never abandon Cilla! I've been upset lately that she's been more and more hidden, but she's about right in that one. :D
I thought he'd stopped using her. Regardless, that pic is amazing. Laura Kuensberg just on her phone.

He gave her a shitload of taxpayer money, didn't he?

I assume he'll resign with immediate effect, as precedent suggests this is his only course of action. The Tories and their newspapers would, after all, be clamouring for the resignation of a standing Labour MP under these circumstances.

Oddly, the BBC aren't even mentioning this. Strange. Queer do altogether. Can't begin to imagine what would cause an independent media organisation to behave in such a way.

Have the print press been pushing it? I haven't seen it much online at all but then I only really browse the beeb. I expected this to be a much bigger story...

This report really is shocking, with this PRO-SLAVERY content.

Holy fucking shit.

I mean, it’s important that the slave trade is covered in history lessons, as is the history of the black population of the UK, but to marry the two in a way that says the former was good because we’d not have the latter otherwise is fucking obscene.

This report is someday going to be Exhibit A to demonstrate that Britain's institutions actually do have some serious problems with racism. I mean, "How Britishness influenced the Commonwealth"? They might as well just say. "How we civilised the savages" like they clearly mean.

And when you consider this government has spent the best part of a year slapping historians and charities on the wrist for pointing out links to slavery it paints quite an interesting picture.

the thing is, no sane black or Asian person would write this, so it begs the question, which white Tory middle aged Eton silver spoon rich upper class brexit gout riddled bumfuck did they get to write it this time?

or maybe they hauled in Priti cause, you know, balance

As others have mentioned, the Chair of the review is Tony Sewell, who is black. However, ethnic minority organisations were concerned about his involved from day one as his tendency is to downplay the role of race.

There are plenty of people in ethnic minorities who harbour racist beliefs towards their own and other ethnic minority communities. From what i've observed, this can particularly be the case when they individually are a success - Priti Patel is from a south Asian family but obviously HORRENDOUSLY racist as demonstrated by her policies as Home Secretary.

Barack Obama has also been criticised for his comments on black male youth and how they behave and present themselves (and perhaps slightly separately, presided over the deaths of countless brown people overseas as President).

The PM's ethnic minorities advisor has stepped down :(

BBC News - PM's ethnic minority adviser Samuel Kasumu quits role
They’ll probably wheel Priti Patel out for this as well. Tories love to hide behind her as proof of their diversity, even though she’s very much a white nationalist.

I genuinely feel like I’m living in an alternate reality to my mum sometimes. She just announced: ‘poor Boris, he never seems to get a day off does he’...

I’m like... 1. He’s the prime minister... 2. He’s had more time off doing fuck all than any prime minister I can ever remember... 🤦🏻‍♂️

How long til it turns out the designer of the briefing room is Matt Hancock's sister?

Ah well at least we still have the cable car as a lasting legacy.

No 10 supposedly briefed the press that they thought Dominic Cummings was behind leaking Boris' dodgy tax text convo with the DYSON VACUUM MAN to the press.

Cummings has responded by saying that Johnson called off an inquiry into who was leaking lockdown info last year because it was Carrie Symonds' best friend, and that his plan to fund a makeover of the flat at No 10 with secret donors was 'unethical, foolish, possibly illegal and almost certainly broke the rules on proper disclosure of political donations'.

FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!

I really hope this turns into something, I fear the media will just overlook it again.
