Interesting that this slipped a little under the fan radar a bit pre-contest. SEXY ROCK is quite an untested genre at Eurovision (Vanilla Ninja is the closest comparison I can think of?) and it's clearly QUITE the vote grabber. I've also never seen the word SEX used in conjunction with Eurovision as I have today about their win.

Italy have absolutely dethroned Sweden as the country that gets what people want from the contest, and I'm sure the San Remo runner up (Francesca/Fedez) would have been very high had they been chosen instead. I'm sure Fedez is quite likely to represent Italy next year tbh.

Amare from La Rappresentante di Lista remains my favourite Italian entry from 2021. Actually, it's my over all favourite Eurovision related song this year :o

I wonder if we'll get a few cameos from Italian megastars.

Laura Pausini will surely be wheeled out if she's around. (As a guest, not as their representative)
 
Umberto Tozzi got a pimp guest slot at San Remo this year, so I'm sure he'll pop up at some point.

I wonder if this will prompt some of the bigger stars to give Sanremo a shot next year, even as a song writer. It’s where most of them made their name.

Why wouldn’t they?

They pretty much confirmed they would in the press conference I think, and Milan, Bologna and Pesaro have all thrown their hat in the ring already.
 
It feels quite strange for a BAND to win Eurovision too :D We're so used to it being a somewhat eccentric singular entity.

I'm not sure how the fanbase will view this as a winner as time progresses, but I think it's a really iconic one for the general public. Those outfits and that opening shot of the leather-padded door opening are so so so memorable, not to mention the COCAINE DRAMA!
 
Speaking of which, SURELY Sanremo must be just around the corner if they're going to organise that AND Eurovision! :disco:
 
What a great opportunity to bring some tourist money into the pandemic ravished northern region.

Surely the name PING PONG is quite problematic these days? That’s a bigger scandal than coke.
 
There's no way he was doing cocaine, unless he has an incredibly powerful nose. Both of his hands are visibly off the table!
