How the hell did the awful 'Slave' get in the top 10, and 'Sometimes' & 'Lucky' didn't?

Sometimes was really an embarrassing song for a newly come out gay uni student such as me, but time has been very kind to it and hearing it nowadays it sounds as beautiful and classic as the best of Mozart, Chopin et al.

Erasure? It wasn’t even a bop at the time!

(for me)

nothing cleared me off the Dancefloor quicker.

Guys I’m gonna stand my ground.

in this brutal world someone needs to remind you all of the harsh realities of life, and that includes the slim chance that maybe Britney isn’t the Queen of the Universe.

it’s all done with love.

Ok Jamie

Whilst we're trashing people for their choices, can we discuss the fools voting for 'Crazy' please?

My endless quest to bring a bit of diversity to the pop threads has hit a slight roadblock :(

I'm assuming Oops is only staying firmly lodged up there because it's such a turtle head of a pop song. Never ever have I ever liked this dud. Ever.

Oops is fabulous. I don’t listen to it much, and prefer some others from the era, but fuck me it’s iconic. As soon as the spoken word bit finishes (which itself is :disco: ) and she crashes back in with Oops I! (Bang) Did it again to your HEEE-AAART is just magical.

Everytime really is boring old TWADDLE

Interesting video notwithstanding

OOPS to stay until the end!

Everytime is lovely, and was quite a moment. In amongst all the awful music that 2004 bestowed on us, the Britney Toxic-Everytime comeback was quite wonderful. Obviously, everything fell apart rather spectacularly afterwards, but those two singles were so important in terms of solidifying her legacy.

I get why it's beloved (she WROTE it! She DIES in the video!) but it's such a party killer.

It had some brutally awful remixes too which the Austrian Ex used to insist on playing which really didn't help.

Everytime is Britney's version of Sia's Breathe Me, Tori Amos' Me & a Gun or Whitney's Me & a Bathtub. This fanny flutter remix is gorgeous:

I wanna marry this post.

I like my Britney SLUTTY, BANGING and BOPPIN's sorry to be basic y'all. Sure Everytime was what she needed at that moment and did wonders for her but, better than Gimme More, Toxic, TTWE, Crazy or Baby? INSULTING!

Every element of Oops is instantly recognisable and iconic :o

The drum loop really does give it as a total BOMT rip off :D
