X Factor DEAD

It's not that I dislike Simon Cowell, it's just that I'd like to see his cock and balls at the top of a flagpole, while the rest of him screamed at the bottom. Is that too much to ask?

A quick overview says I haven't watched any X-Factor since Fleur East came 2nd, which was a silly result. I have almost no recollection of the previous series and not watched anything after 2014.
My interest appeared to die from 2012 onwards based on a hasty check of the winners in that year and thereafter

I think above all I'd like to see this laughable LADIES' MAN FICTION killed off for once and for all via a few sordid gutter press reveals

"Secret's safe with me, Simon. Just sort out the BACS transfer would you gurl," giggled Sinitta, 78

I feel like 2012 was the last year that everyone watched BIBLICALLY. 2013 only had Sam Bailey, and Fleur was the only highlight the following year, 2015 was DREADFUL and then it just fell of a cliff in 2017.

I remember having X Factor parties in 2012 but even that year you could feel that it wasn't essential. Likewise with 2011.

It really did die with Dannii.

When did the ratings dip start?
According to Wikipedia these are the figures for the final results show

S1 9.96m
S2 9.90m
S3 10.78m
S4 12.23m
S5 14.06m
S6 16.28m
S7 17.71m
S8 13.69m
S9 10.04m
S10 10.20m
S11 9.88m
S12 8.82m
S13 7.61m
S14 5.83m
S15 not available (and as outside the top 15 programmes on ITV in that week, I can't look them up on BARB).

My controversial X Factor opinion is that Nicole Scherzinger was a better gay-friendly judge than Dannii.

Let's face, most gays were only interested in the Cherly/Dannii frock off.

Look, i enjoyed watching her on the free stage at a pride event as much as the next gay but I did say SUCCESS.
:D Oh didn‘t we all? I couldn‘t find a convenient bin for my empty cans and brown toilet debris and so the stage was quite a handy place to THROW IT

THANKS SALLY ALBA (sp?)

At core, the notion that there was a new superstar just waiting to be discovered grew more and more suspicious year by year. After a while, you're surely waiting for a new generation to come through.

I don't even think it's that though. The Voice and Project Runway, The Apprentice and America's Next Top Model lasted/have lasted for years and years and years despite never actually producing what they promised, and the ratings did dip, I think people will watch so long as it's entertaining.

X Factor was just quite exhausting and had a shelf life.

I think one of the main things I came to hate about it was the presence of the wretched Louis Walsh (another one on the “Keep my dirty secret quiet would you darling” payroll), not to mention the fake dramas of him “leaving” and Simon begging him to come back

PISS OFF

I don't really know anything about any of those programmes, sorry! My experience is that the world has an almost endless supply of cunts so that's The Apprentice sorted.

Do we think that the fact that the winner was no longer as-good-as- guaranteed to go to no 1 because of streaming going into the charts was an element? Supermarkets weren't stocking the winning single any more either.
It's hardly a remarkable crown to the series when the winner goes in at no 14.

It's quite telling that for series 14 (and I imagine series 15 as well, I just don't have the figure for the final because it wasn't in the chart for that week), all the audition/boot camp/judges' houses shows had more viewers than the final.

Did X Factor All Stars actually happen or did I miss that? I remember excitedly sharing my DREAM LINE UP which was almost certainly not reflected in the reality

Was that the one cancelled about two weeks before it was due to start?

I think it was more to do with the latter day winners not having anything approaching the all-important and very exciting X FACTOR and being any old one you might hear vaguely trilling Duo Lipo hits behind the till at Poundland

The auditions became "ha ha ha, let's all laugh at some folk who can't really sing and a few people who actually need help" and I despised that.
I've always hated the audition shows, especially since they've been invited by the producers and basically been told they're excellent just so they'll show up and absolutely bomb.

A while since I watched this and I seem to recall it doesn't all quite add up, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't largely true - much of it evidently so.

I've watched a few videos by people backing up her claims that the footage of her dad, the mic drop etc. were edited - it's pretty convincing.

At first I thought they'd not go to that much trouble to fake something like this, then I remembered that they put her through several rounds of auditions and spent weeks convincing her to sing a Pink song all to humiliate her for a few minutes of TV time.

Speaking of HGV's, I'd rather watch 'Touch the truck' or 'Hold the HGV' or whatever that Victoria Wood stand-up sketch was about, than ever watch 'The X-Factor' again (even if Dannii & Cheryl returned for a frock-off for it).

WHY? Surely Cowell has loads of money, must be tired of this crap himself and there’s nowhere near the interest anyway.

It boggles the mind. Just give up and retire, surely.

this can't be true :D X factor on C5 would be a recipe for disaster. I'd watch the first one though, depending on judges :disco:
