Girls, Cyprus appear to be happy to SLAY in their LANE AGAIN this year 2022 :disco:

Andromachi seems like a SOLID CHOICE, and seems big-ish in Greece/Cyprus?
(EDIT: Apparently she isn't big-ish in Greece/Cyprus :D )

Something in this lane (but a bit SLUTTIER obviously) would be FAB :disco:

But other than that I will wholeheartedly support her cause she's from one of the places near my bay :D

This is my personal favourite from her catalogue.

She certainly has a SOUND she likes to stick to doesn't she :D
Not sure how competitive she will be if she sticks to it for Eurovision, if indeed she is announced as the entrant.

And apols for assuming she's big-ish in Cyprus and Greece :D EDITED the first post now following our local knowledge :disco:

Yes she does. But it's not that this sound is uniquely hers, it's just a popular genre lately that is somewhere in the borders of 3 other genres:
a) authentic traditional folk (i don't think this was ever represented in Eurovision, the closest I can think of was probably Mariza Koch 1976)
b) what we call "artistic" folk (this is sort of like Marianna Zorba's Horepse from 1997)
c) overdone and accentuated hardcore folk (sort of like Kaiti Garbi's entry in 1993, now that was a big name, she was HUGE at the time)
I think the best way I could describe the style is pseudo-artistic-folk and it may sound like an insult :D but I don't mean it as such.
A good example of this genre was Yianna Terzi's Oneiro mou in 2018.

Marianna and Kati’s songs are some of my favourite Eurovision entries ever 😍🇬🇷

From ESC Forum, so pinch of salt, but…

So I've heard the song and this is how it sounds to my ears: fresh, catchy, happy with playful vocals. It's a mid tempo ethnic song with greek traditional/middle eastern sounds but with a modern take. Expect bouzouki and greek language in some parts which blend nicely with english. A sure hit at least with cypriot and greek radio stations. Doesn't remind me of anything we've had in Eurovision at least in the last ten years but it does have a familiarity with the singers previous work.

She wasn't? Must have been bigger than what Andromachi is now though cause I remember I could predict exactly how would she move on stage.
It was sort of a joke we used to do with mom, Kaiti's moves.

:D

THAT move with the hand in front of the face was completely new at the time.
And I want no jokes about Kaiti's dancing abilities. Don't forget she used to be assistant choreographer at the beginning of her career :D

But seriously, I went through her discography, she had released her first 4 albums before Eurovision.
And the later 2 were Entalma Syllipseos and Tou Feggariou Anapnoes, which were smashing successes, Andromachi could never.
I agree that what followed next raised to her to deity status, but that's another thing.

I love it when you are forced to look Kaiti up against your will :D

Entalma Syllipseos was hardly the commercial success, Tou Feggariou Anapnoes was her first Gold.

This all sounds very nice but my take from that is Cyprus NOT giving us a banger? This year of all years? :UncomfortableQuestion:

Not that I'm against some midtempo Greek-style flourishes and all that, I'm sure it'll be a delight if it's anything like the other songs posted.

But the devil worship slut anthem rather raised expectations

Ooh its like Replay but sung by an innocent mountain FARM GIRL!

LOVE IT from what we can hear (obviously).
Not sure it's super competitive, but I hope the stage show features vast displays of VIRGINAL PURITY and swathes of FLOWING WHITE ROBES :disco:

Even though this is more subtle than the past few years, there's no way the Cypriot delegation are going to allow the transition to that final chorus from 2.25ish be anything but ENORMOUS and OVERBLOWN on the night are they? :D :disco:

A mid-tempo bop. 💕

Although given the cast of 1000s on song writing duties, I suspect this was offered to a number of different singers in Albania first (Fifi & Yll Limani) where it was left on the cutting room floor. Not sure if that bodes well.

After nearly a billion repeats am warming up to this. There are elements that I like throughout but there are also lots of things I would have changed.
Especially in the bridge, final chorus and outro.
