    HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY MOOPY!

There's also the few weeks LiveDaily put up with us all. There was never a danger of running out of data there as they kept deleting all our posts... that board has long gone too as Ticketmaster pulled the plug on it in 2010.

I don't mind you copying it here as I copy it from elsewhere anyway! I usually give a credit to Music Week simply because that's where the reports are from but it's not necessary to do so. The same reports are posted by others at other forums and there's usually no credit given.

The BBC have uploaded a preview from The Story Of 1989. Shaun Ryder looks like he should be an alien in Doctor Who and not on a pop music programme! https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07yjm1p

Yup, the threshold was reduced 31 years ago this very week. At the same time compilation albums were booted from the main albums chart and into a Compilation Albums chart. The beneficiary from this was 'The Innocents' by Erasure which climbed to number 1 while the best selling album of the week...

I agree, there's simply no comparison. A million seller was considered to be a milestone, something that most records would never achieve. Now it's something that is fairly common with it being achieved on average once every 5 weeks.

    Best Selling Singles of 2019

The track at number 3, 'I Don't Care' by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber, has one of the strangest chart runs of all time. On the chart dated 19/07/19 the track fell from number 2 to nowhere only to re-enter the chart the following week at number 3. The reason is that on the 19/07/19 it was the...

    Best Selling Singles of 2019

In years gone by this sales week would have been classed as the last sales week of the chart year as there are more days in the sales week that fall in December than in January but the OCC now seem to have a cut off point of the last Thursday in the year.

The track has to outpeform the streaming market by at least 25%. The track will then return to SCR from the following week. 'Dance Monkey' increased in streaming sales by 8% last week but the market grew as a whole. It's what happens this current sales week that matters. The streaming market...

Yup! It's like the OCC don't know how to deal with streams, both when differentiating between subscription and free plays and how to compare them to being the eqivalent of one digital download.
