Taylor Swift - Fearless: Taylor's Version (and re-recorded albums)

Red is very good, and 1989 is a brilliant pop album. I don't really do pre-Red TS to be honest...
I think that's there I am too. I liked some of Red, but really enjoyed 1989 and found lots to love on all the albums since, culminating in major love for the two most recent records. I'll spin this Fearless re-record a lot and see if anything really sticks.

Oh god I just had a moment to Enchanted. It might be the best thing she’s ever done. 4:25 to that longing cry at 4:40 before it whooshes back into that soaring chorus. I’m choking!!!

I'm somewhat new to Taylor, but these songs sound pretty mediocre compared to folklore or evermore. As someone who doesn't have the nostalgia aspect, I'm struggling with them. They just sound like cute-but-forgettable country bumpkin affairs? Quite happy to persevere though if they're worth it in the end?
It's her second album. She was still finding her feet artistically...

I loved her early music at the time (and still do now) but I'm not sure how it would hold up for new listeners now. The new versions will probably help with that

In some respects I kind of prefer the cute country pop bops she gave us up until Red, as it only highlights how much she’s truly grown as a singer songwriter. Now she is giving us LDR realness.

I think she'd still have a big younger audience. Just not necessarily the same as the audience she's developed since 1989.

Perhaps the sheer volume of "new" material was a bit much for me to take in at first, but the album has really clicked with me now. So many songs are leaping out. Ugh, she is SO good.

I played through this today, there are some real gems I wasn't familiar with. Untouchable is superb, love Hey Stephen and That's Why I Loved You too.

I haven't listened to the whole epic yet but Mr Perfectly Fine is very catchy and agree it sounds like it would have been a hit for her.

She's definitely sweetening these releases with the new bonus tracks. I'm not sure I am that bothered to hear 1989 re-recorded but if there are a handful of extras again for that era colour me intrigued.

there are a couple of tracks on 1989 which will definitely be improved by her latter day vocals. Style in particular has some AWFUL adlibs that need polishing up. but there are also some, like Clean and possibly Out of the Woods, that I don't want touched.

I wonder if Max will be involved or if Jack will take over everything.

Untouchable is probably my favorite from the album. Love all the extra tracks from that original re release.

she's been dropping easter eggs in typical bizarro Tay-Tay fashion, and the Swifties have been crunching the numbers and decoded that 1989 (Taylor's Versh) is probably out June 10th, preceded by Wildest Dreams on May 8th. :o

as an example of how they got there, she mentioned The Stand and The Dark Tower by Stephen King in her Colbert interview last night, and those books were released May 8 and June 10 respectively.

also, the 5th and 8th tracks on Fearless (Taylor's Version) have different visualisers to the others. 5+8=13 is Taylor's lucky number and also signifies May 8th. plus one of those visualisers shows a horse (although it is for White Horse...), and Wildest Dreams has been teased in the trailer for The Spirit, an animated film about... a horse.

:o

this is already the best selling album by a female in the US this year on pure sales. #2 and #3, incidentally, are folklore and evermore. :D

Why is she like this? :D

She also sort of announced 1989 was coming next months ago by having a home phone ring in an interview, referencing a tweet about her home phone ringing she made around the time of 1989.

Debuts at #1 in the UK and sets a new record for fastest accumulation of 3 #1 albums

The Beatles previously held the record for 54 years

She also now has 7 UK #1 albums, only behind Kylie (8) and Madonna (12) for female artists

Yes to Taylor's 1989 but fuck Wildest Dreams, give us the new Style and Blank Space bitch!

I think the goal is to get the biggest ones out first to cannibalize the streams from the originals /Scooter, which would make sense if 1989 was next.

I never paid attention to Enchanted before but it's resonating so hard with me right now, I think I like it :D

Don't You came on it the car today and it really caught me off guard how gorgeous it was. I'm obsessed

"Superstar" (Taylor's Version) is that bitch tonight - why was it never a single?

So DIM THAT SPOTLIGHT
Tell me things like
I. cant. take. my. eyes. off you...

I'm no one special
Just another wide eyed girl
Who's DES-PERATELY IN LOVE WITH YOU

Give me a photograaaaph
To hang on my well
Superstar... :(

GOD, I've been on a Tay Tay loophole for the past few days, especially her older albums, make it stop please.

I have reported you to Taylor for playing NON-TAYLOR'S VERSIONS. She will make it stop.

You have to wonder if she would have gone through with this has there been no COVID? I mean, she'd have been on tour for one thing so no folklore/evermore but would she have gone to recording these remakes after the tour? Would she have just re-recorded a "greatest hits". It's surely going to take her all year to finish this.

There are rumors she’s already completed the next one (1989) and is working on Speak Now. I can’t keep up!

I assumed she'd completed them all to be honest (or at least done all the recording) and was just mastering/playing with a release schedule. Not sure if I read something or was just ASSUMING (and thus possibly making an ass out of u and me :()

this bitch simply cannot stop breaking records

01 Fearless
29 Evermore
33 Folklore
74 Lover
89 1989
164 Reputation
191 Red (RE)
194 Speak Now (RE)

also 9 songs on the Hot 100.

AND IF YOU ADD 8, 9, 100 AND 200 YOU GET 317 WHICH IS PROBABLY A CLUE ABOUT THE NUMBER OF DAYS UNTIL TAYLOR REISSUES RED. :o
