They added some fan vote in at the end and Sweden won overall, but Sam was second with 400 points to Cornelia’s 437 :disco:
Yes I found that complete bullshit - they were drip-feeding scores through the whole day to reveal Sam as the winner, and then posted at the end "oh btw Sweden won".

Odds have shortened in the last day or so from 12/1 to 10/1 on a few markets.

It is coming ‘OME

So like they do it in Eurovision then?

I knew some smartarse would say that…

Yes that’s a point but the whole thing was called the EuroJURY and the televote seemed to be dropped in a single lump with no drama at all.

It's all a bit panic-inducing how the stars seem to be aligning for this. I hope it doesn't climb higher than 4th in the odds - the pressure and expectation would be ridiculous. At this point it does feel like it has as much of a chance as any of the favourites and dependent now on running order and performance on the night/for the juries.

But it keeps bugging me how the song alone is quite pedestrian really, it's entirely reliant on Sam and his delivery, which thankfully is pretty much top tier so far. The other thing is Sam needs most of the other male ballads to stumble which also seems to be looking likely. But not definite and Azerbaijan are a quiet threat.

I have kept my hopes in check which is why I've placed a very logical tenner on him to win

You don’t want him to move in the odds, but you’ve placed a tenner on him?

I don't want him to go higher than 4th, because of the pressure/expectation on him, nothing to do with betting, although obviously that wouldn't make a difference if I've already placed my bet?!

Inarguably one of the most influential songs of all time by now.

I feel weird

I mean last year I knew Trumpets was doomed and was worried for Buttertart, but now it’s happening again and I’m on ButterTart’s side. They say when Pandora’s Box was opened, only the worst thing was left inside: hope
Weirdly I feel like I’m less invested in a UK win than everyone else. I feel like we deserve it and it’s perfectly feasible but I’m on a high as it is because of the fact it’s even considered a possibility. Anywhere in the top ten I’ll be elated; a win would be a glorious surprise and very possibly lead to a number of simultaneous cardiac events.

I genuinely thought Surie stood a chance, as well as our 2020 non-entry which really should have just been used last year instead (was that an option). Something a bit more positive is in the air this time though.

I went for a run earlier and nearly fell over in horror when the thought occurred to me, what if they put us on last? It really sounds like a perfect closer and with that staging...

They wouldn't...would they?!

Oh Jesus, with Italian scheduling that means we won’t actually see the performance until mid-June.

Presumably they really DON’T want to host this next year so you’d think they would put us in the OPTIMUM position?

I thought this last night too. It seems a perfect slot for it!
