It was a very close vote in the Semi-Final! Just two votes seperated the last three but missing out on a spot in the Final, Father forgive us as we send the second Pet Shop Boys song home in a commendable 3rd.

TWO POP DIVAS ARE LEFT to duel it out in this 1987 Final! Will Whitney chase her blues away to a victory dance or will Madonna's dream of San Pedro and longing to be number one come true? :disco:

You are VOTING FOR A WINNER from the two songs in the Final. The song that gets the most votes wins, simple as that! Pick your chosen winner now!

I think it would have been a closer final if PSB had made it, but Madonna has no chance against Whitney here

She was technically flawless in the 80s wasn’t she. Nobody could touch her.

I saw her when she could still really sing (in 1999) but not peak. Even by then she was taking more breaths and avoiding certain runs. But she was incredible.

The My Love Is Your Love era? Yes, I think she was smoking crack for quite some time by that point. It just goes to show how strong her voice was when even at that point she could still belt out her classics albeit not at her world conquering best.

I think I’m influenced by the absolute moment of La Isla Bonita on the recent ‘Celebration’ tour from the audience of the show I was at so I went with that. Both behemoth songs.

I don't really go for "Dance". If it had been How Will I Know, I'd probably put the AMAs performance on and it would be no question.

What amazes me about IWDWS is that it remains to this day an ultimate "party song" - the songs you will always here at any family party or hen do or whatever, and it hasn't seemed, at least to me, to have lost any shine. Most of those songs tend to become very annoying after 30 fucking years - you either get sick of them, numb to them, or just simply forget what made it magic. If you ever did get that spark from hearing the opening bars, it can be long gone.

Not the case with this. Without ever being able to know for sure, I imagine this monster hit is probably one of the songs I have heard most in my lifetime, and it still gives me great joy when I hear it.
