Horribly generic. At the time I understood it was coming off a lot of momentum but it turns out people actually do like it as a song.

I gave it a spin last night and it actually is still really rather good.

It just isn’t a standout for me from her.

Actually it's not worse than American Pie you're right. I don't care for the other two at all but I'd but Sorry below them.
 
Sorry reminds me so much of my introduction to the gay scene, I would get so excited when it came on in clubs. The new Madonna song!! It was very good to gay dance to and for that reason I think it's just great.
 
It was one of those songs that DJs interweaved into the end of other songs in a way that you just got a suggestion of what was coming, before launching into it, TEASING you.
 
I like Sorry a lot. But it's just another Madonna song I like a lot. Maneater takes me to a very specific point in time.
