i hate tahini. how can it make absolutely anything taste worse?

do you hate tahini too?

fuck you, tahini!

i'm having steamed cauliflower with tahini (i friend brought it over, i would never),
it tastes like foot mould. am i not hating it? i swear i hated it last night.

looking back (at these eventful few minutes) i'd rather there was more steamed cauliflower with tahini than, as currently, none at all.

what an ill-thought-out thread title.

As a solo item its pretty fucking shit. Its like a liquid but dry.

As an ingredient its good.

It makes awesome dressings but I could honestly eat it straight from a jar. I mean almond butter also has that liquid but dry quality and most people go nuts (excuse the pun) for that.

Do you hate houmous am? Do you hate anything made from sesame seeds?

I don't really get a semi on for any sort of nut butter either, if I'm honest. If I want a dry mouth I'll go on a drug binge instead.

Side note: Fuck cauliflower.

I’ve made some amazing tahini and rye chocolate chips cookies. Works SO WELL.

au contraire! i love houmous. and i was wrong about it ruining everything cause i put tahini in mine (and it's amazing, everyone thinks so).
and i love these sweet sesame seed snack bars we have here with honey or some shit.

I mean usually you don’t just spoon tahini and eat it as it is. It’s more of an ingredient.

I mean I obviously had tahini in dishes but can’t say I’ve HAD IT RAW.

BOILED cauliflower though wtf, only acceptable roasted.

tahini, YES! in houmus, dressings, what have ya

but most definitely not over steamed cauliflower :zombie:

If we're talking about tahini as a raw ingredient (sesame oil), then it's absolutely indispensable. Without it you could never make the QUEEN of all appetizers: HUMMUS.

It's also delicious mixed with date syrup.

Ugh, nothing brings my inner FOB out like Iraqi food.

I’ve just discovered tahini and cherry jam on toast/ pitta/ white baguette.

It’s fucking incredible.

I’m VERY upset by this @ameraal because we normally agree on everything

but I kinda get it - I think the problem is most restaurants just don’t make it properly and bad tahini is SUCH a disappointment

also it’s shocking how many places don’t do it. Like, if you’re going to have a posh kebab on your dinner menu (as is now trendy in the U.K.) how do you NOT have tahini as a side option?

“would you like some cheese on it instead?”

oh FUCK OFF!

Technically Tahini is sesame seed butter/paste, not oil.

On a related note, toasted sesame oil FTW!
