Fucking Hell!
Not good enough!Only 9 injuries apparently!
The Marina Torch goes up on a pretty much yearly basis. You could set your watch by it, like the annual insane death toll at the Hajj.Isn't this about the third or fourth skyscraper fire in Dubai?
I hadn't heard of this one before, the cloud of gas that floated into a disco and then ignited is just bizarre and slightly mesmerising.Los Alfaques
Yeah, it's one I only found out about by chance; considering the circumstances it's amazing it isn't more widely known. I suppose the fact that there were no Brits among the casualties meant it just wasn't newsworthy over here.I hadn't heard of this one before, the cloud of gas that floated into a disco and then ignited is just bizarre and slightly mesmerising.
Oh yeah I've seen them, just eerie. Curiosity and bloodlust means I always end up looking at anything with a viewer advisory warning, and I always end up regretting it.The photos of Los Alfaques are really quite horrifying. Approach with caution.
I do vaguely remember hearing about Los Alfaques in my childhood (but then, it was in mine), but not looking at photos before. I can only compare it to the casts of the victims of Pompeii, but way more graphic.
Yeah, that was one of the first non-80s disasters I remember reading about. Surprisingly few serious accidents on the Underground.Curiosity got the better of me with this. The photos look like the aftermath of a war.
I always found the Moorgate Tube station crash fascinating.

We were made to feel bad about Aberfan as well. I think it traumatised a whole generation.
Laws of motion. Ignorance.Did that container ship just plough right into it? How? Why?
