Do you listen to audiobooks? Have you any recommendations on good ones to get once my Audible one book a month rolls along?

I love them but miss having my car to listen on the way to work.

I went through a Khmer Rouge regime autobiography phase a couple of years ago:

First They Killed My Father
When the Clouds Fell from the Sky
My Survival in the Killing Fields
To Destroy You Is No Loss

And one novel, In the Shadow of the Banyan.

All of which were horrifying/touching in different and similar ways. Then I got into North Korean defectors, and Wild Swans (Chinese generational saga).

I struggled to get into fictional audiobooks at first but have gotten better at it. I just finished Alone in Berlin which was great.

A lot of the time it does depend on the narrator but it's a nice way to knock out another book while you read an actual paper or electronic one simultaneously.

Edit: forgot we already had a thread. :)

Last audiobooks I "read" were Spike Milligan's war diaries and James Acaster's Classic Scrapes both of which I felt could be improved by the author's delivery. I was right.
