Marks & Spencer are taking legal action against Aldi whose caterpillar cake, Cuthbert, they believe is stepping on the many, many toes of their own famed Colin.

M&S say "we want to protect Colin, Connie and our reputation for freshness."

The news will be sure to strike fear into the hearts of Cecil, Curly, Clyde and other beloved supermarket caterpillar cakes.

We were given a Kylie Koala at Easter which I think was from M&S. Don't fuck with Ms Minogue. She will win.

Wait, it's CURLY Caterpillar from Tesco's! :o My mum LIED!

Aldi vs M&S breaks me though.

I can do Tesco vs Asda, Lidl vs Co-Op, but this I just can't.

Maybe I'll get myself a Colin for my birthday this year.

Have to say, having seen all the supermarket Caterpillars on the market, Aldi’s is the most similar. Pretty much identical.

No? Although if its brewdog suing someone then that's just what they do daily.
Someone told them that Aldi had made a knock-off Punk IPA and they made a joke can of ALD IPA using Aldi's branding. Aldi liked the idea, so they ended up making the beer with Aldi stocking it.

Alternatively, they may have been planning on partnering with Aldi anyway and this was a cynical attempt at making it go viral.
