I absolutely love my car. I see it as an incredibly fortuitous and lucky purchase back in December last year. After leaving London I couldn’t cope with the lack of transport facilities living back in the northern suburbs and felt very cut off and dependent. But as it turns out it ended up being even more crucial - I can’t imagine not being able to drive anywhere during lockdown. The buses here are shite enough and they’ve been reduced, there’s no local train station (bus links to train but again, reduced) and it’s the sort of service that just comes when it wants. It does go into Liverpool but it literally has to pass through cow and sheep crossings to get to me before it gets to the city. They’ve given up on timetables here.
so I’ve ended up using the car even more than I expected. The thought of having to jump a bus right now just to go and buy some milk
