Olivia Rodrigo getting an album of the year nomination is absolutely baffling to me

Janelle and Miley feel like Kate Winslet nominations… both of those albums are massively inferior to their predecessors

Well it’ll be between Swiftie and Miley and I’m here for two strong independent females sweeping the board yaaaaaasss etc etc

This is tonight.

Confirmed list of performers:
  • Burna Boy
  • Luke Combs
  • Billie Eilish
  • Billy Joel
  • Dua Lipa
  • Joni Mitchell
  • Olivia Rodrigo
  • Travis Scott
  • SZA
  • U2

I’m no Billy Joel fan but he’s a living legend and it’s quite normal for the Grammys to have legends spots.

I wasn't complaining, I remember his performance at the Grammys (1994?) when he suddlenly stopped playing and said something like "now this is costing you money", a true legend. I was surprised but if he has a new single out that's probably why he's in.

He always struck me a bit like The Eagles. HUGE in the USA and some sizeable hits worldwide, but mostly known for only being huge in the USA because most people could only name about 5 songs.

Lovely to see the legendary Tracy Chapman take a night off from being a shut in

I can't find a full performance of Tracy Chapman anywhere :(

I watched little clips of the Grammys earlier, forgetting it was on before. Some interesting appearances there, like Céline Dion 💗 Annie Lennox singing Sinéad O'Connor's song 💭 and of course the wonderful performance and appearance of Tracy Chapman 🎼🤗

A few days ago I happened to be watching old Cher clips, one with Meryl Streep cheering for her winning this award, and similar for this time when Miley Cyrus won, but strange they didn't hug. Strange acceptance speech 😅 but nice win! 💐

Anyway it'll be fun to see Enya there for the next Grammy Awards in 2025-26! :disco:
