oh my very LORD :D

To be fair the feeling of having to get properly naked to really take a good shit is quite relatable. BUT NOT IN PUBLIC.

Also unrelated, but the mailbox at the end of your path. Don't Americans have letterboxes?

I think the education thing is more of a movie/tv thing. My school didn’t have “jocks” and “nerds” or however it’s portrayed. I also was never bullied and I don’t think it was common at all.

the sharing a room thing is common, but only in your first year or two of college. I agree it’s terrible

we did have “campus police” (resident advisors) when I lived in a dorm
What about all that kapa kapa alpha shit, is that really like in the movies?

I think you can just get a larger house for less money here, especially outside big cities

People steal packages from my building all the time. That’s why I have all my mail sent to work or my parents house

Parcels get left at reception here if you're not in.

God I really must write a list of things I love about this block, to remind me when I moan about having no outdoor space or spare room.

My post office is a couple of minutes away which is very practical. However since COVID :rolleyes: they changed opening hours from 10:00 to 16:00, Monday through Friday! NO WEEKENDS! LITERALLY impossible for me to collect stuff.

I once bought breast of chicken in a can from MARKS AND SPENCER. It was shaped like a cylinder, covered in a gooey clear substance like afterbirth, and had a best before date of two years into the future.

I feel I know better America better than most Brits having been there now close to 100 times including about 12 different cities (although I'm yet to visit the south, not including Florida). And I still say I love the country and most of the people. Just don't ever talk about politics. Even the hardened New York democrats thought Trump would never get nominated, let alone elected. It's a shitshow. Much worse than us.

You have a reception at in your house?

With some delivery options they can leave parcels outside your door here, so you don’t need to collect it from nearest delivery place.

I tell you what irks me to no end, pavements just end (or often don't even exist) all over this fucking country! Everything is designed with the road user in mind.

Speaking of which, said drivers do not know how to use a frigging roundabout or "traffic circle :manson:" - the amount of them who think they can go the wrong way because the road has no other cars on it, despite the fact a lowly foot peasant might be about to cross! Grrrr

Oh and public transport is utter shit.

I had a concierge in my last flat and the building was FAR FROM POSH.

It really is great though having someone sign for your parcels though and I’m going to miss it in my next shit hole apartment.

Is it some kind of left over from your classist society?

I’d actually love a concierge here. Especially nowadays when food and parcels are delivered all the time.

I'm in a big "estate" of 400-odd flats. They're more security guards than concierges really, to ensure any old cunt can't get in and wander about, but they also take parcels, direct visitors to the right block, and STUFF.
