I'd have guessed he was a fair bit older than that, thinking back to Saint and Greavsie being on TV in the mid 80s. Another victim of the men of that period looking older than they were. But perhaps I'm just kidding myself because I'm the same age now as he was when that programme started...

I remember my Dad always used to love watching Saint and Greavsie, and I think it was on straight after the kids TV programming on Saturday mornings, so invariably used to catch it with lunch. So this feels more sad than it should, somehow.

Just discovered Ian St John died earlier this year as well. If I knew that, I'd forgotten it already.

Yes he's more familiar to me than he should be. The Saturday lunchtime pre match show is not an especially fond memory.
