I've had one gloating friend on facebook this morning. I suspected she was Tory but she's never showed her colours before. And she's a friend in the facebook sense only.

I can't decide whether to bin her off, or keep her as a painful reality check. Pretty much my whole life is an echo chamber and it isn't serving me well.

Well we seem to have permanently joined the ever-extending SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF LIVERPOOL here :disco: along with FELLOW ONE-TIME MARGINALS WIRRAL SOUTH and WIRRAL WEST

Bollocks to the WELSH though

This whole sorry mess was to be expected but it still doesn’t make it any easier to swallow

Can’t quite believe Siobhan Donaghy predicted this ALL ALONG

At least Wales remaining mainly red was somewhat heartening, as was Zac Goldsmith losing his seat AGAIN.

Brace for a glorious Brexit within 6 weeks all :disco: It’s time to get our country back.

I’ll be avoiding the news and social media over the next week or so. I can’t face all those gloating gammons. The Little Englander mentality has won this election.

This will surely be one of the last chapters of the UK - Scotland are on our way out now and there are more republican than nationalist MPs in Northern Ireland for the first time. We are about to have a massive constitutional crisis in this country.

Oh, the UK as we know it is gooooone.

I take some solace in the fact that, even if i’m fucked down here in England, my whole family are in Scotland where the SNP will try to protect public services at the very least.

I'm genuinely completely devastated. Lies won. Corruption won. Bigotry won. Stupidity won.

Now what? Seriously. Boris won't entertain IndyRef2 so...what happens next?

I can't get my head around the questions, never mind the answers.

I think about this often, and it stands clearer than day when comparing to Danish media, but I'm agog at what UK media can get away with of blatant lies and scaremongering. freedom of press does not equal willful manipulation

The press and the Tory party for that matter have done so by stealth. It´s the frog in boiling water effect. People are so use hearing news in such a skewed manipulative matter that they don´t question it. It´s only when you able to step out of it you can see it for the absurdity that it is. When I have this conversation with people back home(I moved abroad in March) they look at me like im talking a foreign language or just label me a Corbynite, remoaner, take your pick etc etc.

We are the minority folks. A lot of people don´t see the Tory Party for what they are and a lot of people simply
didn´t like Corbyn. :(

Being in japan I feel a little detached from all this, since I’m fairly cut off from the news (at least the papers and tv news)

but my mother has only commented a few times, and both times have been very :( last night she said “I hope you didn’t vote for labour” and added (facetiously I’ll admit but I never know with her) that Corbyn would send us all to the concentration camps. I mean holy shit! Aside from the staggering comment none of us are religiously affiliated at all anyway so I don’t know if that’s an anti-Semite thing or what.

today semi-gloating about “Bosser” doing well and good riddance to Corbyn

My Welsh home county who voted Remain stayed very firmly Plaid. :disco:

My school friend’s mum who ran for Brexit party got like 1,000 votes.

The woman who said disabled people didn't understand money was elected. She's also said something about a Muslim conspiracy to make young people transgender.

I say fuck you Little Miss Hitler.

Hehe - I wonder if she feels that was worth it - all the people that won't touch her with a frigging bargepoll now set against FUCK ALL.
She got more votes than the Tory majority. I'm sure she's sitting at home smugly pleased that she won it for the Brexit supporters.

In fairness I bet the number of people who have blacklisted her is only about the same as the number of votes she got.

That's like she took her policies from a Da!ly Ma!l headline randomiser.

Hope she's killed by a falling rock.

I hope she falls on a SPIKE. Seriously, FUCK HER and the rest of these nazis.

To pick a kernel of sweetcorn from this turd of a result, the majority of the country voted pro-remain/PV, and the Tory vote share was only 1% higher.

I will continue to wish every possibly tropical disease on anyone who voted Johnson because they ‘couldn’t bear to vote for Corbyn’, and I so dearly want to pop round to Darren Grimes’ house and kick him repeatedly in the spine.

Last seat of the election called.

Conservative HOLD in St Ives

Final tally

365 Conservatives (+66)
203 Labour (-42)
48 SNP (+13)
11 Liberal Democrat (-10)
8 DUP (-2)
7 Sinn Féin (+0)
4 Plaid Cymru (+0)
2 SDLP (+2)
1 Alliance (+1)
1 Green (+0)

That's a final Tory majority of 80 seats :(

Congrats to Ellie and SDF for correctly predicting the result.

Those changes based on the numbers of party MPs at dissolution are confusing and I don't know why they are using them. You also have to say that 20 INDEPENDENT MPs or whatever it was lost their seats or it doesn't make sense.

Based on the last election the Conservatives are up about 50, Labour down about 60 and the Liberals haven't really changed. After all nobody VOTED for all those DEFECTIONS and RESIGNATIONS.

I hope the Lib Dems just fold now. They're done. They have no purpose.
