Good news for Clara Klingenstrom, my top choice for AC

AC Acts by Duel

Duel One

22. Alvaro Estrella
28. Lillasyster

Duel Two

44. Paul Rey
62. Frida Green

Duel Three

11. Clara Klingenstrom
40. Ewa/Eva

Duel Four

15. Efraim Leo
41. Klara Hammarström

Really annoying that Frida and Paul are the two biggest FLOPS but one of them (Paul) will limp through anyway, while we look likely to lose Beat of Broken Hearts and either Clara or Rena Rama Ding Dong. (I prefer Clara, but RRDD would be a fun addition, and I think they'll win despite her superior streaming anyway)

Yes, it is really annoying. Would have loved both Clara and RRDD to go through. For me, it's the best song in AC vs the most joyous performance. I suspect with the currect voting system RRDD will just nick it as they will probably get the two older groups (and thus, the phone vote too) as well as the two children's groups.

AC should really be set up so that the closest approximation of each micro-genre gets in.

I'd have done something like:

Paul Rey vs Efraim Leo
Clara Klingenström vs Frida Green
Klara Hammarström vs Alvaro Estrella
Lillasyster vs Eva & Ewa

Lillasyster vs Eva & Ewa

I strongly agree , and this would be possible
If they’d just drop this 3rd vs 4th caveat. It really means nothing especially if someone is 3rd in a weak heat and up against someone who is 4th in a strong heat

Paul vs Efraim would have been perfect, I’d rather guarantee one doesn’t make it than risk both of them making it.

Considering the Heat 4 songs come out the same day as the finalists, plats. 31 for Clara is good!

Very happy for her success, regardless of if she qualifies tonight I think she's shown herself to be very likeable and great potential as an artist.

Emil was famously described as "music for rural Swedes" in rehearsals, so I'm assuming the PEASANTS are going STREAMING SILLY on his song.

With the voting representing age brackets rather than a straight-forward most votes wins this still feels relatively open, within a pool of 3-4 songs.

Paul being below Charlotte despite getting additional AC exposure on Saturday *and* being far more of a traditionally streaming-friendly artist really does illustrate that his song has no business whatsoever being in the finals.

Knowing that Eva/Ewa and Clara both got the highest votes of the night, it’s galling that the public CLEARLY wanted them both to make the final far more than they did literally every other act. Once again, Paul is dragged to a final the public don’t want him in thanks to the stupid duel system.

Neither really was a standout to begin with but it will be interesting to see if Paul actually got more votes than Frida in the televote part (as opposed to app votes), I suspect she did have more support from older viewers.

It's not so much the duel system that aggravates me (although I was pretty annoyed this year over the Eva & Ewa/Clara duel), but the way it can be manipulated to ensure certain acts are more likely to be eliminated while certain are more likely to go through. I think it was better when it was pre-determined based on placing in heat and which heat it was, and I remember it was "random" at one point. A fairer way to do it would just be to put the act who got the highest amounts of votes in their heat against the one who got the lowest, then 7th vs 2nd and so on. I know that's not a perfect system either but it seems fairer.

I’d honestly rather the four with the most votes just got through to the final. I can well imagine that would have meant Ewa/Eva, Clara, Alvaro and Lillasyster, which would have been varied and interesting additions as opposed to deadwood like Paul.

I fully agree, it just seems unlikely they will ever drop the duel system despite hardly anyone seeming to like the system. If they insist on having it, I just wish it would be more fair rather than it being used to engineer certain results.

If they were interested in fairness, it should really have been:
Ewa/Eva vs Alvaro (Party songs)
Efrain vs Paul (Young males)
Klara vs Frida (Ballads)
Lillasyster vs Clara (Guitars)

They will keep the duel format, since it’s been very successful from an entrainment standpoint. They need to switch it up for AC somehow to keep interest up when there’s no new songs.

I think there might well be a bit of a contest overhaul in quite a few areas in 2022, with Karin likely wanting to put her own ideas into place and stamp onto place.

I'd be surprised if Andra Chansen wasn't one of the areas jiggled about.

Sweden really do LOVE a basic banger.

Charlotte's intricate melodies are clearly just too complex for the layperson's ear. :(

I assume that the Swedes are having to stream 'Voices' so many times because otherwise they won't be able to remember how it goes.
